In our ongoing saga to determine whether or not the Madoff sons, Mark and Andy, really had no idea their family business was a scam, we've said several times that one the one hand, how could they not, and on the other: FISH. We've received 387 pictures of the boys and they are posing with fish on every single one, sometimes with rods in their mouths, always with dumb looks on their faces. Fishing, quite literally, appears to be all they do, and we're nearly convinced they might've had no knowledge of the Ponz. Today, a tipster intimately familiar with the Madoff brothers' fishier pursuits (he would be the one you have to thank for the many family photos) writes with info that seems to strengthen the argument that the boys (or at least Andy) are innocent:
Surprised more people have not pointed out that the woman that was with Andy Madoff shopping in SoHo was his girlfriend Katherine Hooper not his wife Deb... they separated early last year...new girlfriend works for him at Abel Reels and this is not a joke...two weeks before the scandal broke he was bragging how she got a tattoo of his name on her ass.
Basically, what with the fish and the asses, there simply wasn't enough room in Andy's brain to stuff in things like a $50 billion scam. Pic of the Hooper after the jump. I'll give you two guesses as to what she's doing, but you'll only need one.

Lets assume that the boys did not in fact know about the scheme. They probably took home lots of money from their toils on the broker dealer side of the business. That goose is gone now, and to the extent they invested their earnings with dad, thats gone too. I suspect though that their remaining personal assets are significant and beyond the reach of the law. In short, these are still two wealthy boys, hence no shame at being caught crusing through Soho on a post-scandal shopping trip. Thoughts?

I'm 59...remember well as a kid watching Alpern & Heller do the books for my Dad's firm..Then Horowitz slid in, and Ruth's Dad told everyone his future son-in-law Bernie wouldn't amount to shit. My brother once asked him what courses he was teaching at a local south Florida genius college, and Bienes answered in his nauseatingly speechimpedified tone, "why BWAIN SOYGERREE, OF COURSE" Our family had a huge fund with Avelino Bienes for years...turning off 20-30% interest income on "loans" for years. When the shit hit the fan, the SEC disgourged the profits and income, along with fines. My DAD went nuts, even though we all got everyones dough back, plus interest, we all thought the gravy train with the Jewish Bernie Bonds were over. After A&B were dumped, I called Bernie and we sat on the phone for hours trying to figure out a new vehicle on how to set up the feeders again in a legal manner.I could tell right away that Bernie had NO experience setting up this type of operation; he suggested we start an investment club...my Brother and I told him about LLC'c with 100 accredited investors. It flew, but only after we were told that the prospectus/offering could NOT mention Madoff. As soon as we had the deal rolling, we printed all our docs clearly indicating that all funds will be with Bernard Madoff Securities...he saw it, and never said a word.All 100 investors knew from the start that their $ was going to BM, which we all now know is the abreviation for shit! getting late, much more to tell tomorrow. stay tuned
