With Miss Davis’, er, assets, she should apply for the analyst gig. Seems she’s got this whole equity thing already figured out. Bet she makes MD in no time.

@2- did you notice how it said “separately,” as in separate from Dealbreaker?

Lat/Bess – As someone who works for the Big 4 I would love to write for DB. Unfortunately, I’m STILL employed with 1 of 4. Interested to see what you guys/gals can do with the subject as you have done such an awesome job with law and wall st. Knowing what I know you should have plenty of possible applicants for this as the blood letting has been going on and will continue within the Big 4.

    Ultimate write-off:
Flew to Vancouver this afternoon. The toolbox next to me pukes all over himself after we pass through some turbulence. Thankfully, he barfed only down onto his suit and I avoided collateral damage.
    Time to get loaded…

A blog on accounting! Can’t wait. Er, not. There just doesn’t seem to be the same level of public douchebaggery in accounting, for whatever reason. Not that there aren’t douchebags in accounting, they just seem to be more discreet about it.

  9. Posted by guest | January 31, 2009 at 2:58 AM

    @2- when they…
Go ahead, say it! Say it bitch! Does it begin with “jump” and end with “tank” you sick filthy dirty little bastard. Keep your hands off my DABA Bitches! Word on the street is DABAgirls.com is a front for an escort service. You heard it here first. DB always breaking the latest news.

I am a hedge fund manager. What is alpha?

  12. Posted by guest | January 31, 2009 at 12:31 PM

@8…Trust me the douchebaggery is high.
for instance the recent layoffs that have gone down – no severance since they tell people its performance related and therefore give them the boot. and ones that are true layoffs get 1-2 weeks for each year of employment. Shittay.
Couple that with partners talking about doubling revenue in pratices by the end of 2010 – as late as June 2008…

Too soon for another writer, not while the wound is still fresh. I’ve been watching a lot of Oprah lately and I think we need closure before we move on.

I’m not sure why you’re telling EP to ‘suck it’; that Soros piece is incoherent rambling senile garbage, at best.

  18. Posted by guest | January 31, 2009 at 4:27 PM

@7 here, of course it is. It’s just that EP sometimes likes to engage in incoherent rambling herself, just in the opposite direction. Kinda like a Soros^-1 So probably the expression “to suck on it” just doesn’t make any sense. Sorry, my English ain’t so good. Also, I’m still stuck at work and haven’t really slept for a couple of days, so… whatever. :)

In ML’s “Panic” there is an article “Cooling It: Wall Street Firms Try to Keep Internet Mania from Ending Badly” by Rebecca Buckman and Aaron Lucchetti in the WSJ 2/24/99.
There’s a paragraph in that article discussing HB’s infamous $400 price target and then it quotes a certain Mr. Madoff as saying “it was insanity. This thing is getting out of control”
There are other great quotes from BM, check it out
