  2. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 1:38 PM

Why are you tagging GM with General Electric and Jeffrey Immelt?

  3. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 1:42 PM

Why is the Title “GM” but the tag line is “General Electric”?

“GM won’t admit any wrongdoing or pay a fine, but will agree not to contest the allegations and a court-overseen injunction barring them from any future accounting issues.”
Thank goodness ! If they had to pay a fine, I don’t know if the SEC would have accepted stock.

    GE and GM are merging.
    GE and GM are merging.
    GE and GM are merging.

Erin is so much more pleasant than Maria. Can she have the 2-4 time slot? How great would that be?
And I’m sure she would cost less than Maria.

  14. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 2:03 PM

Slumdog Millionire is an amazing little film.

  15. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 2:03 PM

@12 agreed. Best Movie winner easy.

  16. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 2:04 PM

    @13 Maria needs to euthanized.

Ledger is a lock for supporting. I hope his speech doesn’t go too long

How crazy/hot was Penelope Cruz in Vicky Christina Barcelona?

  19. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 2:08 PM

I was a bigger fan of Jesse Jane in Slutdog MillionHairs

  20. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 2:08 PM

12,14, wrong. No title captured 2008 more appropriately than “The Dark Knight.” Heath Ledger for best actor as the Joker and Patrick Bateman as best supporting actor as Billionaire Christian Bale/Batman.

  21. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 2:09 PM

WALL-E should be best picture. They say it won’t be because Best Picture is voted on by everyone and since actors are not employed in animation they make sure that animation never gets the nod by voting in a block. That is soooo unfair.

  22. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 2:12 PM

@20 DK was good but the story was weak compared to a Slumdog.
@21 Wall-E will win best animation

You have to give Erin her due. She is the only one with the guts to keep bringing up the fact that the guy didn’t pay his taxes and now is up for Treasury Secy. This is bothering most Americans, they are quietly whispering about it and many are upset. The republicans have suddenly become a bunch of pussies.

  24. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 2:20 PM

Tim Geithner, President Barack Obama’s choice for Treasury secretary, on Thursday accused China of “manipulating” its currency and pledged “aggressive” diplomatic action to drive Beijing into action.

  25. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 2:21 PM

@23 – you’re right. If this is a harbinger of things to come, The Messiah ought to be pissing people off quickly. HE should step in and nuke the candidate to prove that “CHANGE” is here.
And the Republicans should be going crazy to make Him do it.

  26. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 2:23 PM

    @23
The Republicans have been gutted, and they are just as big a set of p*ssies as the Dems. Bunch o’ whores.
Speaking of whores, I can’t believe anybody cares who is on financial television. Just get some well endowed hotties to read off the headlines, and quit pretending that there is any value added by the rest.

  27. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 2:26 PM

@7. “If they had to pay a fine, I don’t know if the SEC would have accepted stock.” Yea. Just pay in stock. Soon it will be bartering. If they will not take stock, how about few GM automobiles?

I don’t think we ever add tags that aren’t supposed to, in one way or another, be subtle commentary. I think you readers are smart enough to figure this one out.

  29. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 2:35 PM

There is a difference between GM and GE?

  30. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 2:38 PM

It seems like CNBC is taking a stand. Cramer, Kudlow, Faber, Burnett and a host of others all expressing their concern about the nominee.

the pubes dont match the drapes

  32. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 2:40 PM

@28 Good save EP. Except for the fact that the last 10 posts have tags that relate exactly to the issue at hand with no subtle commentary.
You misread GM and GE. Fess up and move on.

  33. Posted by guest | January 22, 2009 at 4:16 PM

But the “Probe” is a Ford product, no?

  34. Posted by Equity Private | January 22, 2009 at 4:22 PM

“@28 Good save EP. Except for the fact that the last 10 posts have tags that relate exactly to the issue at hand with no subtle commentary.”
I suppose you will have to rely on the meaning of italics then.
Or perhaps I’m just overly subtle.
