I told a dancer at The Solid Platinum Club in Houston the other night that I was tired of women being treated like objects. It was right in the middle of a “body slide”, too.

If you want to see what a menopausal woman acts like, rent the movie “Jeremiah Johnson” and when JJ happens upon a settler’s place in the woods that had recently been attacked by Indians, a surviving mother and child are found. Watch how the mother deals with things. That’s what menopause looks like in most instances.
It’s no wonder “Trophy Wives” are all the rage among wealthy men.

@14 ….JCK here…..Last time I was at The Men’s Club I was in a highback chair experiencing a dance from Miss Cinnamon (who you probably know) and and it was a fine dance and I heard some unintelligible sounds behind me so I looked around and back of me there were about 20 Marubeni folk from “the Island” watching my dance and hablaring Nipponese under their breath to each other. It made for an unenjoyable experience. The big boss told me to put the night’s foray on my expense account and he’d approve it. Gotta love ”

Hey, I just came back from a Phish chat room, and some of the Wall Street phans and actually, all of us have agreed on this point…
Erin Callan should dress up as “The White Witch” of Narnia for “Playboy”
And I think I did play a role in her “nervous breakdown”; she could not stand the pressure of being mocked by a hippie shareholder of CS, so she lost it
I wanted her to be in a school girl outfit, but they shot my idea down, said she was too old :(
However, I would still bang her though!~
Even if she is 43-years old…and has the hands of a 60 year-old woman

What did you say about Erin? BTW, she should button up, her balck unmentionables are showing

  50. Posted by TheBlackstoneGroupie | February 5, 2009 at 10:04 AM

    @48
TGFD, I found that post in which you called Erin a “skank.” Why do you call her that???
According to the “New York Post,” she is taking a five month leave of absence from CS, as she has been summoned to a grand jury, and is in personal seclusion.
She tried to runaway from her involvement at LEH, but could not. LEH->CS->grand jury summons->”nervous breakdown”->personal seclusion
WORST executive decison ever made at LEH, promoting a female “manic depressive” with no GAAP experience as CFO of an investment firm during a credit crisis just to satisfy a C-suite quota.
And being a fellow sufferer of this, she created a “fantasy world” in which she was the center of attention, could not accept reality that as things were crashing around her that everything was fine, and then lied and deceived not only herself but others in the process.
I know because I have experienced this before, and when it all comes crashing down, the fantasy becomes a nightmare. :(
I do feel compassion for her. I really do. And it holds true that people of bipolar disorder/manic depression have higher IQs than the general population. Brilliance yes, but with an attitude of the ends justify the means. And you end up hurting those around you, and are unaware you are doing it.
Seek help, Erin…and take the plea agreement.

  51. Posted by guest | February 5, 2009 at 10:20 AM

#50 – Erin was another great management decision by Joe Gregory, a man who was proud that he made decisions based on feel or intuition. She is perfectly capable, just unqualified for the position Joe put her in. She certainly wasn’t the only one.

  52. Posted by guest | February 5, 2009 at 10:22 AM

    Groupie,
Plea agreement? She has not been indicted on any charges. Seclusion = bad move? No, there is no sworn secrecy required when testifying before a grand jury so she could speak if she wished, however she probably doesn’t want to be nagged by the press with whom, it seems, she has voluntarily entered into a relationship with and regrets it.
As for Bi-polar syndrome, how can you be sure that she has this? The way I see it -call me names- is that it is a simple case of “you can’t run with dogs if y’er gonna piss like a puppy”. When you sign a 10-K 9of a short sold object of skepticism firm) in 2008 and then “open the Kimono” for everyone to see how well capitalized you are (not) you should have a media scowl ready and some tuffy vibes, otherwise this is what happens to you; GAAP knowledge-lacking, bi-polar, manic or whatever.

  53. Posted by TheBlackstoneGroupie | February 5, 2009 at 10:46 AM

Three reasons she WILL be indicted:
    (1) Signing off on the 2008 Q1 10-Q, which was misleading, violating Title IX, Section 906, Section 1350 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002; penalties:
    (a) “certifying” a false report; up to $1M fine, up to ten years in prison
    (b) “willfully certifying” a false report; up to $10M fine, up to twenty years in prison
    (2) raising $6B in capital in early June, selling shares at $28/share on false financial premises; some of the victims: Hank Greenberg of AIG, Blackrock and Wes Edens of Fortress Investment Group
    (3) changing her story on a mark pertaining to a private equity investment, in which David Einhorn can corroborate
There you go…I just “indicted” her. She will be doing a “perp walk” in a Chanel dress and Manolo Blahniks.
    Welcome to the Machine…

    Guest@#49, BXGroupie@#50…
This is what TGFD said about Erin’s skankiness early last June:
“Why is Erin a skank? For someone who is only 42, Erin is remarkably poorly preserved. That leathery-looking, too much sun, heavily blemished skin for starters. She has the hands of a 60+ year-old woman. Her legs are thin and lack shape and definition. Hair is unnatural, dyed, with the sheen that comes from too many harsh chemicals. In and of themselves, those characteristics do not make a skank. Erin achieves that distinction because she has allowed herself to become somewhat of a media spectacle. She prances, struts, wears tasteless and revealing clothing, lacks modesty, behaves arrogantly, and considers herself to be a fashionista. That “personal shopper” business is ludicrous. In summary, what puts her over the top in the skank column is that she looks like she needs a good scrubbing.”
    TGFD continued with:
“Women are at somewhat of a disadvantage in business. Dressing conservatively and tastefully and carrying themselves with dignity helps them. Erin does the opposite.”
TGFD also wrote in another post at about the same time:
“To answer your question: I have no idea about Erin’s sex life. I don’t recall ever saying anything about it. I don’t know if Erin “fucks a lot” as you say, and I really am not interested in that aspect of her life. The portions of her life that she has foolishly made public are what subject her to ridicule. I believe that she was seduced by the glamour effect of media exposure. Another poster alluded to that same exposure. I think that the media is eventually going to hurt her, just as they’ve done to others. I don’t know if her sex life affects her work either. Erin is very bright with experience in certain areas, but she is no match for those predatory jackals/hyenas in the media. I’m certain that they’ll eat her lunch for her. Those dogs have manipulated her, and she thinks that she is a star.”
    TGFD continued:
“Erin looks like a skank to me. Whether her off-hours activities merit that or not, I don’t know. Perception is often more meaningful than reality. Just ask any voter on Election Day.”
I hope the above excerpts answer your questions.
    The Guy from Delaware

    @54
TGFD, sir, you are right about Erin. She does dress in a sexual provocative nature. I do not believe that I have seen pictures of Sallie Krawcheck, Carly Fiorina, Zoe Cruz or other finance ladies dress in that fashion. Not saying they have never dressed in that nature, but I doubt they wore that such attire in the office place.
Erin dresses like she is still attending Harvard.
You either love her or hate her. I love her as a human being, but hate the things she has done to hurt people.
I admire her for her brilliance, but dislike her feeling she is “I am all that, and then some” attitude.
She is not a goddess of Olympus, she is a human being, like everyone else. I would not wish to be her right now…

    Groupie @ 53,
All very good points, and we may indeed see an indictment; I stand corrected.
    TGFD,
Agreed, more or less… It is not up to us to set standards for women’s, business attire, but treating a CFO position as another “fashion accessory” is shameful. Whether or not Groupie is right about SOX violations that can be proven, I don’t know. It does however seem that Ms. Callan is reaping what was sown. Any observer would agree, fashionable or not, that she was drawing attention to herself in many ways.
