“If you read the news it says that Ken Lewis had to take the corporate jet ‘because of the timing of the meeting‘ with Cuomo yesterday. Ken Lewis was sitting in a hair salon called Emerson Joseph in Charlotte at 10:00 am, taking his sweet time, being groomed. More than one person I know saw him. So self-righteous! I’m not against the corporate jet, or his grooming habits for that matter – but that bank lies about everything all the time and always gets away with it.”

Someone PLEASE call Emerson Joseph to confirm he had an app’t!!!! Someone in Charlotte – take a pic of the salon and send it to Andrew C!

  2. Posted by guest | February 27, 2009 at 9:24 AM

Wait…that was an important meeting, the haircut is extremely important part of the important meeting. He also should have gotten a jab or two to make him appear more relaxed.

“You won’t find your wife, daughter or girlfriend at this salon, even though it’s got just the right mix of top-notch services, comfortable surroundings, and urban sophistication. That’s because Emerson Joseph, Charlotte’s newest grooming lounge, is devoted to men only, with a decidedly masculine atmosphere that’s as much social club as day spa. It boasts the kind of indulgences that any man will appreciate: pool table, flat-screen TVs, and a relaxed atmosphere to linger in before or after a haircut, shave, massage, manicure or pedicure.
Why men only? Because men deserve an environment that caters exclusively to their style and grooming needs. Ask a man where to get the best service for his car or the best deal on a plasma TV, and he’ll know in an instant. But a first-rate haircut or massage…that’s another story. There’s just no other place in Charlotte that can claim to meet the grooming needs of style-conscious, discerning men. “

Totally unrelated, but has anyone come to a conclusion on whether Erin B. was the week long furlough, fun bag enlargement and eye job? Her eyes look good, but they always did and her tits do look bigger, but I’m thinking it’s all psychological.

Just before Emerson Joseph, he was in some Korean nail parlor. Where he got a hug and a tug.

Who cares if he flies in a private plane? I’m sick of people getting up in arms over private planes and that includes you Bess. If BAC wants to fly its CEO on a private jet then that’s between the Company and it’s common shareholders. Not the public’s business and not the government’s as a non-voting preferred shareholder.

@11- I don’t give a rat’s ass if he took a private jet. If you look closely, you’ll see that the text above is a quote, meaning the words did not come out of MY mouth (or fingers).

Jesus Christ, Charlotte. Chill out with the Ken Lewis reports. If the city’s not big enough for Lewis to get a haircut or a drink without someone live-blogging it, I wonder where he’ll move…?

  18. Posted by guest | February 27, 2009 at 9:50 AM

@4. I agree. I’m not convinced that EB didn’t go with the wonderbra. She’s always been attractive-at times. But I don’t think she got surgery.

Yeah, Emerson Joseph, but can I get a happy ending with that?

  22. Posted by guest | February 27, 2009 at 10:08 AM

Ever since her days at Bloomberg, Trish has been The Champ. When I was on trading floors a few years back, whenever she would speak, traders would stop and watch. EB could’ve been somebody, could’ve been a Contender. I think Becky Quick is up & coming! Chicken Soup MB is like George Foreman-should start selling grills.

@13/Bess Excellent point. I should be more careful… hungover or not.

I am not a Ken Lewis fan, but how about the press staking out an airport with a copter to capture the shot? Did they divert the traffic copter? The press are the biggest ambulance chasers around. Some Columbia University graduate student is probably assigned go through his garbage bags too. Just sayin….

  25. Posted by guest | February 27, 2009 at 10:35 AM

Someone email ABC news with this. They’ll have someone at Emerson Joseph in a heartbeat. Another “public outrage” piece!

I used to live in Charlotte and had my haircut there. A great place, actually. Kind of like John Allan’s in NYC. Have a beer, get your haircut, watch some sports. You know, that kind of thing.

  33. Posted by guest | February 27, 2009 at 11:37 AM

Seems that the issue in the title has to do with the fact that he said the reason he took the corporate jet was due to the “timing” of the meeting….when in reality the timing issue was because he was getting a haircut.
Far from the “web of lies” portrayed in the title, but he could have skipped the haircut.

    Concerning Bank of America Mortgages:
I am bitterly disappointed to find out that the
promised “abiltiy to lower my refinance rate in case of a change in the market” was a lie. It was promised by both the original interviewer I spoke with and by my closer. This was one of the main reasons I agreed to refinance with Bank of America and it was used as a closing argument ‘to get me to sign’ by them to assure me that the interest rate I was paying could be adjusted within the first year if a strong downturn in the economy happened.
Well it has……and they have not honored this promise made to by my original inteviewer ‘Joshua Jones’ on August 5, 2008 nor the same promise made to me in the following calls made by ‘Anne-Marie Vaughn’
This basically constitues FRAUD by Bank of America and I can assure everyone at this establishment…that with what little voice I have left……I will always steer people away from Bank of America in the future and will in no way ever open another account with this bank.
I am stuck with my higher than promised mortgage rate ( which is no doubt a reason they published a profit this last quarter….cheating people like me out of their money )but I do not have to fund any more of their business.
    This is a classic case of;
    BUYER BEWARE !!!

BofA recently made some changes to my account. I’m a successful entrepreneur. In response to the recent bailouts and finance-related recession I decided to live more frugally and pay off all my consumer debts as quickly as possible. I began paying 3-5x the minimum amount on all my credit cards and within one month BofA made the following moves: raised my interest rate, moved my due date, failed to send my bill, locked me out of online bill pay, assessed late fees and pay by phone fees, refused to let me speak with a customer service manager, and refused to disclose their last name or employee ID number. Since I’ve been responsible about my spending and carry only a meager amount of debt not paying it would be silly. Unlike BofA, I’m not going to rush around sucking up crumbs. I do, however, find it interesting that a “profitable” bank would behave in this manner. Desperation? I’ve sold my shares of BofA to pay off the balance in full and relocated my account to the credit union. I recommend others do the same.

I know it’s way past the date it happened, but I was the stylist who cut his hair that day and it WAS NOT at 10 a.m. that day. He gets no shampoo, shoe shine, or nails done. Just a SIMPLE dry cut and back out the door. Get a life people. The man needs a haircut, don’t you?

If B of A wasn’t stealing and basically printing counterfeit money every day of the week, I wouldn’t mind people like Ken Lewis taking a corporate jet to different parts of the world. The trouble is: B of A steals money from homeowners EVERY day of the week. They bought a boat loan of bogus loans and now don’t want to take responsibility for the violations, fraud found in them. They can write a neg am, no doc, 40 year loan on a 67 year old Mississippi woman with cancer at 12% interest, yet not help the same woman with a modification when she begs for help. Some might say: “Well you signed the paperwork”, especially the tier 1, B of A employees that have no clue about the predatory issues in these loans. These same employees will feel justified in ‘doing their job’ by harassing the same poor woman for pennies, to the point where she has to choose between food and paying her mortgage.
It’s a total sin what we are letting this bank get away with. They are the biggest, boldest criminals on the planet, yet we let them continue to take from us and trust them.
What’s even more ironic is that they have an ‘A+’ rating on the BBB website with over 8000 complaints in the last 36 months. All listed as ‘resolved’. They must really think that Americans are stupid. Maybe we are. People need to WAKE UP!
