@1 is Geithner Jewish? I hear that is a questionable assertion. Apparently there was a big discussion about it on Wikipedia. Anyone know? Or care?

No he isn’t Jewish, he was raised Episcopal, doesn’t go to church, was married as a Christian, and is named after the Christian saints Timothy and Francis, and though there are Jews with those, as we used to say, Christian names, it was never the way to bet.

Remember all the stories about what a behind-the-scenes hero Geithner was after the Bear Stearns bailout? What a difference a year makes. Steve Liesman would still give him a foot massage though.
