This Proves NOTHING

Bernard Madoff’s wife, Ruth, withdrew $15.5 million from a Madoff-related brokerage firm in the weeks before her husband’s arrest, according to the Massachusetts Secretary of State.
A complaint filed Wednesday by Secretary William Galvin’s office said Ruth Madoff withdrew $5.5 million on Nov. 25 and $10 million on Dec. 10, according to documents from Cohmad Securities, which was co-owned by Mr. Madoff and which the Massachusetts office is investigating. Mr. Madoff was arrested Dec. 11 on allegations of perpetrating a massive Ponzi scheme.–WSJ

Absolutely proves nothing. Those dates are so close to Hanukkah, surely that money was for Tiffany bill.

It seems there’s a correlation between job losses and comments on DB…folks don’t comment as much anymore…perhaps all the bloggers have been canned. Bess, do you have another niche in mind?

Used to pay for the bail?
The act of it being withdrawn is nothing. What was then done with it?

  7. Posted by guest | February 11, 2009 at 11:40 AM

Sounds like a harmless coincidence to me. There are various reasons why someone might withdraw money from brokerage accounts.

When the Lycans rise again, the clawbacks will be too much to bear for many of the former wall street elites

has your brain been canned? the “bloggers” who run the site are right here.
folks don’t comment as much anymore? really? would that be why most posts generate, on average, at least 40 comments?

    @ Clown Capital
When I typed that out, I was wondering if there was anyway to put a picture of the Wayne Brady death stare in the post.

how bout Bernies attorney Ike Sorkin.
Sorkin had a Madoff account for his father rolled into an IRA for his mom. This account was then cashed out and distributed to his 2 sons about a year before it all blew up.
Talk about inquiry notice, this guy was in bed with Bernie for over 25 years!
The receiver ought to be looking at that for fraudulent conveyance and a clawback

We oughta just waterboard the old Coot. Find out who was in on it with him and where he stashed the loot. He would last about a minute before he would be squealing like a baby.
