Charlie Gasparino: “I was at San Pietro yesterday and I was stopped by a waiter who asked me, ‘When is this going to stop?’ And I said, ‘What, like the financial crisis?’ [And he said] ‘No when are they going to stop beating up on my customers, ’cause they’re not showing up.’ And that’s a problem. There is a trickle down here, when you start attacking this compensation system. Middle class, working class people get affected. [More importantly, Charlie Gasparino gets affected. CEOs abandon San Pietro --> San Pietro lays off busboys --> my scoops goes out the window --> Apocolypse].”
Update From my inbox:

Won’t somebody think of the little people?
Let them eat cake i say!
heretofore gasparino thought that trickle down economics was when he paid for sex and got an std.
That waiter is a little out of touch. Or Gasparino just made it up, most likely.
@2 No time to worry about Oompa-Loompas
@1 Yes, my dear god. I was speaking to my manservant Jeeves and he says its downright awful. The workers at the Austin service center have nothing to fix…i say! despite them being former Fords you know…
TRISH REGAN IF YOU WANNA PLAY WITH WOODY GIVE ME A RING
every cab driver has said the same thing to me for the past 3 months. every cab driver has also tried to scam me out of using my credit card in lieu of cash. pricks. “not working” “credit no work here” “credit only works after 9pm”
give the tax money to CEO’s
LOL
Gasparatigan was in the corner booth talking to himself again. The waiters threw rolls at him until he left.
restaurant bubble?
If Chuck doesn’t get a free scoop of spumoni and the “dish” on how many lemonade/manischewitz cocktails Lloyd’s had, the short-sellers have truly won.
Every Wall Street executive actually supports two other people in New York with his discretionary spending.
If you’re mad about the economy, fine. If you’re pissed at your 401(k), wonderful. But don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
Does anyone feel as if Obama is completely lost ?????
His first 4 weeks is a disgrace
Change We Can Believe In
How many freebie sopressatas do you think Chazza’s getting for that plug? Why don’t you tell the truth, Gazza?! Like you, the country will have to resort to the barter system as the currency is worthless…..
LOL @ OBAMA HATERS
@19- right on. He’s completely in THE WEEDS. Time to call Laura Bush to help navigate himself out of this huge shit sandwich
BO is a chess player. The repulicans are posers. He is fully taking advantage of their sense of superiority to make them pass this bill with the bi partisan stamp of approval. The numnuts don’t even see how he is manipulating them.
@16—You bet your ass there is a restaurant bubble. Walk in one of those places where they wouldn’t give you the time of day much less a reservation, and they fall all over you. Then peruse the menu and look at the prices we were paying just a very short while ago. Hard to say who was more foolish, but the foie gras is piling up like shat through a goose.
CHARLES GASPARINO IS THE SECOND SEXIEST MAN ON THE PLANET!!!
Change we can believe in
ha ha ha ha ha
suckers
What’s with the sudden influx of unemployed, gay people on DB? #23, 26, 28, 29 = same loser?
Gaspagool has probably been working NYC’s Italian Restaurants for years now…no doubt ground zero for his “sources” who include a ragtag bunch of waiters, busboys, baristas and bartenders who all have opinions and predictions
@29 He has the ugliest feet I have ever seen! Works out at my gym and gotta say very disappointing.
Is it just me or is there a skewed reality going on with “The Elite” of the these United States of America
MILF’s unite!

Mirage Cabaret == Trannys for Traders
not only do you need a scoop but also a spellcheck – it’s apocAlypse.
Just goes to show whose money his customers were using. It’s easy to eat out when it’s expensed on the company.

Did anyone catch Duke getting assraped by Clemson last night?
@19,24, The Obambro has been in office only two weeks, I know it seems longer.
Clinton’s first two years were disastrous but eventually he figured the job out, sort of. A little early to write bat-ears off.
Pan troglodytes
Harry Reid is psyched that the media big wigs in his party discouraged Wells Fargo and everybody else from going to his home-state destination resort – Las Vegas. These Demos are in so far over their head on manipulating the market that they can see their ass-crack from the ground.
@43 – Clinton “Figured the job out”? He was impeached! He created this housing mess with his “everyone should own a home policies”, and his reluctance to address radical islamic terror led directly to 911 on our own soil! If that is “figuring out the job”, then God help us all.
Am I an idiot?
@46 Oh no you di’int!!! You go girl-fren~
@46. Rush, is that you? Can’t hear you over the side effects of my oxycontin addiction.
Thank you Pres. Clinton for making us so safe after the WTC bombing in 1993!!! NY was never attacked again while you were in office.
@47 – sadly, Yes you are.
Did anyone go to Clemson that is not gay?
Fuqua You
rock on 46
tard@46- when are you going to get it through your head that a blow job does not a bad person make? and spare me the adultery factor. Definitely don’t need to be told how to live by pill-popping, cousin-marrying, million times divorced closet case republicans. Know who never had an affair, or received an illicit bj? Poster child for one massive fuck up after the next. Bush.
@54
Bush is a giver…not a taker.
Besides my friend’s wife, did anyone ever go to Duke that wasn’t a raging douchebag?
@56
Richard Nixon
@57 – does that include Richard Nixon as played on the show Futurama?
let’s hug our enemy’s! – obama
@59 – does that include Richard Nixon as played on the show Futurama? He was kind of an enemy.
I was in a Popeye’s in Detroit Michigan. They said business has been down and they might have to lay off some drive through staff.
Who is Dylan Ratigan? Is he a Fuqua?
@52, haha Dook bey-atch. On the bright side, this year’s 2nd round exit should be easier to prepare for.
DCWC
@24
Yea, I frequented upon BHO in Washington Park playing chess with all the old black men. Not.
More like I played basketball with him and he talked quite a bit of trash. He also calls fouls like a pussy. That guy is funny. Not funny ha-ha, but funny queer.
I just noticed something. It seems that the staff of CNBC all get excited when Gasbag (LOL) and Kneale start to converse with each other. Kneale accuses Gasbag of his poor reporting and “sources,” Gasbag replies “please let me finish…,” and all the others just sit and grin.
I can’t believe Gasbag was a reporter with “The New York Post.”
Gasbag, the Andrea Peyser of CNBC…
Kneale looks like he came from a Dilbert cartoon strip.
fuqua is B&T
Obama is the new Jimmy Carter and Biden is the new Stalin
The Gasbag/Kneale dynamic is the only thing that’s keeping CNBC going on these slow news days. They secretly adore each other.
@54
If I were married to that frigid bitch AND was the most powerful man in the world, I would have gotten a bjer twice daily. I can only fault the man for not hiring SEC sorority girls.
The president should be able to get blown whenever the fuck he wants. It should be a standard perk of the job.
-Nobama
Gavonarino reminds me of the friggin ‘citrulls’ that used to try to pal around with the wiseguys at this nightclub I had a summer job in back in college.
Except gaspachino can’t decide if he’s a WASP wannabe or a wiseguy wannabe.
hey speaking of CNBC….is everyone done with their YELLFESTS….hear that Harry Markopolos refuses to go on the network..bet he goes on Bloomberg where they wouldn’t ever hire Joe the Plumber (aka CG) as a reporter….
So the gasman thinks that DB is all gasparino, all the time. close, but not quite there yet.
San Pietro customers won’t show up because they are dying of old age…
TRB
Denis is out of his league.
Levin when db goes down you can go down at the paisan run flop house run over on bowery…same commute
If you are ever alone in the Equinox locker room being corned by a frothing at the mouth Gasbagool, just scream for help and one of the trainers will be in shortly. It worked for me.
i think CG has it the other way around, considering that his “scoops” come from reading DB.
Does Chaz do anything other than read DB?
I think he has a point, the real economy will start to hurt as a result of these ridiculous policies!
@78 – Yes, apparently he stalks people in the Equinox locker-room.
When you accept a job and are told the salary for that job, you should then expect a bonus to provide your employer with your best work. I think not. If your not giving what you are capable of, your are part of this corporate mentality of I deserve everything for giving nothing extra.

@55
Yea he gave us 4.2 Trillion more Dollars of borrowed Debt to pay off some giver there boy…..
81 82 No, no. The bonus is to reward you for bringing in extra profits (however your employer defines them). Compensation expense therefore varies along with the profitability of the business, which is important in a service business where compensation is ~50% of costs. Its a win win. Profits fall, your employers costs fall as well. Your argument is just wrong, because it removes that potential flex from compensation expense.
Equally wrong however is the argument bandied around a lot here that the bonus is not really a bonus but in fact an entitlement that bankers are due because they are very well educated and work long hours.

Chazzarino: now that you brought Waitresses into the conversation, you better damm well check the food that comes out of the kitchens of your favorite restaurants. This situation could carry many kinds of “fluids” onto your plate,
Employed Tranny Sous-Chef
As if what Chazzy does is more prestigious than waitressing. Chazzy calls places where people work and asks them to tell him what is going on – brilliant!!!
Chazzy GASBAGARINO
He has the kind of face that makes you really think about the best place to punch him before you do it.
At least CG has a sense of humor.
Great reporting by Hedda Gasparino. How come CG isn’t reporting on the scandal that everyone at CNBC is talking about. THE FORCED RESIGNATION OF JONATHON WALD AND THE ETHICAL (GUARANTEED) BOMBSHELL SCANDAL SURROUNDING HIS DEPARTURE. WHERE IS GASPARINO WITH THIS TIDBIT??? NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS AT ELAINE’S OR SAN PIETRO???? HUBRIS!!!!
CG, ANY GE TARP MONEY USED TO PAY FOR YOUR MARTINI’S AT NIGHT???
# 90
I don’t expect Charcoal-Gas to say something about the SUDDEN AND CONTROVERSIAL RESIGNATION OF JONATHAN WALD for obvious reason (he wants to keep his job, man!) A lot of speculations out there but it’s only a matter of time that someone would be brave enough to tell our curios world the real reason.
Will Erin Burnett get the same privilege of reporting from foreign soil?Wald spoiled her with that! She doesn’t need to go to Russia to tell the world their stock market plunge 75%.
Dont expect the public to fund your payroll and pay what the hell you like.
Expect the public to fund your payroll, be greatful because really you should not even be getting that ffs. You should be looking for another job!!
Not exactly complicated, a maximum nation wide pay cap has not been enforced – I now its difficult for your type to get your head around the simple fact that you are entitled to nothing! If you think you should be getting paid more go and bloody well earn it rather then frighten idiot government officials into giving you cash for crap or nothing.
So these are the great minds of Wall Street? No wonder our economy is going down the tubes!
To #84, if there were so many profits that $18 billion worth of bonuses were merited at the end of 2008, why exactly did those companies need a government bailout?
