Holy shit, right? Didn’t see that coming. Anyway, apparently those AIG employees that we found out last night turned over their bonuses? There’s talk it might’ve been through a series of, OMG, scare tactics by the Attorney General, who may have threatened to reveal names if he didn’t get the money!

An Italian using threatening tactics to get money out of people? IMPOSSIBLE. That never happens except in the movies…..
Good to see the brown shirts and their threantening tactics are back.
Seems the country needs a healthy dose of “Escape from Freedom” by Erich Fromm.
Pitchforks and torches . . . bitches.

He made them an offer they couldn’t refuse……
I think this a job for Paulie Walnuts.
He is using his guido persuasion…..
Andrew Supcuomo.
Wait, so Cuomo might actually be… a competent elected official? One who actually did something in the interest of taxpayers? Unthinkable!
As an Italian/American I am deeply offended at the stereotypical depictions on the message board. You’re are all racists and the next one who posts anymore crap like this will be asking for a broken kneecap.
Liberal democrat from NY that worked for Clinton, bullying on behalf of Premier Obama, in this defining moment. Shocking.
Italians are mafia thugs!
@7
Essentially threatening peoples’ lives to recover funds representing a significantly small portion of the big picture makes for a competent elected official?
Interesting, may I ask where you got this definition from, prey tell?
spitzer is in a washington d.c. hotel smiling…
@11 – a small portion of the big picture, but a huge portion as far as the individuals affected are concerned. This kind of thing will be very effective at changing behavior going forward.
If you are serious about changing the fucked up incentive structure that led us into this financial mess, this is exactly the kind of thing we need more of.
Unlike some “soak-the-rich” tax that punishes legitimate success, this kind of targeted clawback just drives home the lesson that irresponsible risk-takers will be punished, without causing any big macro distortions.
@10 – Maybe it is that I need to remind you what I do for a living. Take for example tomorrow morning, I’m going to wake up and go to the bank and if you don’t have my fucking money, I’m going to crack your skull open, then when I get out of jail, hopefully you’ll be coming out of your coma and I’m going to be there again, and gonna crack your skull again ’cause I’m silly, jail don’t mean shit to me!!!
Do you think he’ll leave his socks on?
Attorney General Cuomo should take “attorney” out of his title because he is not in any way a lawyer who uses legal means. He’s just a two-bit thug with political aspirations, just like former AG’s Spitzer and Giuliani before him.
@13 It was the bonuses that go us into this mess. Just keep telling yourself that.
Apparently their contracts were good and they really didn’t have to return the money. And, apparently, some of those visited in CT gave back the money already, so how did the visitors find those people to begin with? So, if legal means were going to fail then the only way was intimidation or moral suasion. I think a lot of people will be uncomfortable with the manner in which the return of the funds was accomplished. It set a hell of a precedent.
@13 It was the bonuses that got us into this mess. Just keep telling yourself that.
16 Two dagos and a jew. sounds like the mob to me.
Rat-faced Andy = Next governor of New York State. The guy has “daddy issues” like nobody’s business and he ain’t quittin till he gets the mansion on Eagle Street. Paterson is dead in the water and Giuliani hasn’t got a snowball’s chance in hell.
Gov. Cuomo II – deal with it, kids.
OMFG this state is gonna suck donkey balls…
I don’t get all the hate for toxic assets, without them we wouldnt have the ninja turtles
Hey 13 you’ve got shit for brains thinking we need more government.
On other sites they are talking about receiving unicorns. Is everyone getting a unicorn?
13 Irresponsible risk takers are macro distortions – without them nobody makes any money.
P.T. Barnum
@24 – Yes. Except you. You’re getting a “danza slap”.
@13 – are you fucking kidding? Threatening to, effectively, sic an angry mob bent on physical violence against you and your family makes for a competent official? You think this will be very effective going forward?
I, very seriously, hope you leave the country and go live somewhere where it is more common for government officials to threaten, harass, and exert violence on citizens with impunity. You don’t deserve to live here.
@13 I have an idea, when they appropriate the money, why don’t they write into the law a clause about bonuses. You know, write laws, instead of threatening about laws after the fact. That might, in face, be a responsible politician.
@27 all government officials ultimately derive their authority from threat of violence anyway (arrest and incarceration), so what’s the big deal? too much for your stomach to handle?
Today: “AIG Execs Return Bonuses”
Tomorrow: “Riverfront Esplanade Project Unexpectedly Finds Additional Funding”
I actually hope those people dont give back the bonuses and he releases the names. If anyone gets hurt…he will be using his law degree to defend himself in civil court.
yeah, 13…it was all the bonuses. except that same incentive structure was magnified 50x or 100x across the general population when idiot homeowners who couldnt understand the mortgage papers they were signing all came under the impression that home prices went up forever and it was the easiest & quickest way to get rich.
every single person is motivated by greed and the housing bubble proved that. homes were just the most broadly accessible form of speculation with excessive leverage.
@31 – exactly…
its hard to beilive that there is a bigger tool in the family than Mario but this grease ball seems to have eclipsed the old man
@13. Misaligned incentive structures got everyone into the mess — little neighborhood mortgage shops, ABS desks at banks and above all, AIG. If you don’t understand it, you should get back to polishing your resume.
@27 – hey, it’s a helluva lot more effective than a Congressional hearing.
@29 Rot in hell you commie fag
#21, Caroline will be the candidate.
I’d actually like to personally shake the hand of any employee who calls Cuomo’s bluff to release their personal information. I know this will fly completely over the heads of a certain crowd, but perhaps maybe, just maybe a handful of people @ AIG earned their keep (+/-)?
Uncle Milty on greed – beautiful
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWsx1X8PV_A
Why is Cuomo wasting his time stalking the AIG guys when there are 700+ at merrill who took home $1M or more on dec 31st. That is the list of names he needs to threaten / publish…
Every 4th generation Italian has mafia connections…
…and every Korean is good at calculous…
…and every black person watches stolen cable every night.
@ 38 — Lady “uhhh like uhh, like ummm” Kennedy couldnt even get herself APPOINTED senator — no friggin way she lasts a day against rat faced andy in the primary — especially after her cuz put the horns on him.
Ha ha ha get ready for “Governor Cornuto” !!
@ 7 – you idiot
google “Andrew Cuomo, HUD, subprime”
fuck it
http://www.observer.com/2008/real-estate/andrew-cuomo-may-have-birthed-subprime-crisis-or-well-maybe-not
cuomo’s a stooge. i’d rather have sheriff joe go after these bankster thugs
@ 42
…and every black person watches stolen cable every night.

really? our revenues are down. do you have addresses?
James Dolan
I took the retention bonus, because I have a legally binding contract which I will sue over and FUCK the aholes up here in Wilton who try to come to my house because (1) good luck getting through my gate (2) I have a .22 on premises which I’m absolutely lethal with.
As for Ahole Cuomo, release my name mofo. I care not–just know–you contributed to my retention too and I plan to save that one cent so I can drop it on your head from the Empire State building.
42 Its the same with every ethnic group. The Mafia connection (or taxi, diner, convenience store, or garment business) is second generation. Third generation goes to Rutgers, Queens or Brooklyn and then into public accounting. Fourth becomes a doctor, lawyer or banker. Fifth goes to film school.
ANDREW CUOMO FOR PREZ!!!
@46 you could save Andy the trouble and change “guest” to your real name?
I have a 9mm…
dont bring a knife to gun fight.
Kudos to Cuomo. About time we had some good old fashioned justice. This country has became way to accepting of outrageous, fraudulent behavior.
@29: “all government officials ultimately derive their authority from threat of violence anyway (arrest and incarceration), so what’s the big deal?”
Uh…no crime. No civil violation. No suggestion of either. No arrest. No arraignment. No indictment. No accusation. Nothing. Plain ol’ citizens threatened by the power of the State (and the mob, I suppose) to surrender their lawfully owned property to the State.
And you don’t have a problem with this.
@ 46 – A .22 is a frickin’ BB gun, white boy. Remember, those ACORN protesters have cousins who have cousins who have AKs and Tec-9s. Get yourself some serious heat and don’t forget, nothing says “Welcome, neighbor” like a little razor wire.
- Laid back, with my mind on your money and your money on my mind
@46 i drew more blood when i popped your daughter’s cherry than your .22 will when I come back next weekend.
the Italian guidos getting the money back from the jewish scheisters -
I am with Tony on this one
Jacob’s been ripping us of
“the Italian guidos getting the money back from the jewish scheisters”
except for the fact that we’re talking about AIG, and not GS, you halfwit.
Great collection, thanks for sharing Eric :)
