Seriously. Connecticut is really pissed off and they want their piece of the pie. Yesterday.

The state of Connecticut is analyzing the details of bonuses paid by American International Group to see whether they violated state law and what possible remedies might be pursued, the Commissioner of Consumer Protection said on Monday.

But that’s nothing. Consider the point of this $165 v. $218 million bonus discrepancy thing. Connecticut wants to get that. Now.

This discrepancy now will be probed, Farrell said.

Well, Ed, prepare to be probed.

    Somebody has their Nantucket Reds in a bunch….
    I would love to see one of these AIG execs come out of his house and, in his best Calhoun accent, just say:
    “Nawwwt a dime back….My best advice to you is….shut up…”
    and see where the media goes from there, strictly for entertainment purposes.
    If Connecticut politicians spent some time enforcing the laws instead of taking bribes (Rowland, Ganim, about 45 others) or touching kids (Giordano) this wouldn’t drip with as much irony…

    Yes, would love to see a AIG bonus recipient to publically tell the government to shove it.

    what’s the % of total taxes paid by the top 1% in CT?
    everyone keeps saying the richest 1% in NYC pay 50% of the total taxes collected. Is the same true in CT?

    @5 – I hate to break it to you Guest, but there are indeed many poor and tacky people in the Nutmeg State.

    6 I second that. Beyond lower Fairfield, Litchfield, the shore east of New Haven and one or two suburbs of Hartford its a generally sad place.

    @ 7 i’d say 2 or 3 suburbs of hartford, but i agree. and i live in one of those suburbs

    @2
    as a long time connecticutter (connecticutite? connection? connecticutian?) i can say the guys in office now (blumenthal, rell, etc) are probably the least corrupt state officials since we were a colony.
    our senators are a very different matter (dodd i’m looking at you)
