Steve Liesman reports that AIG has offered Attorney General Andrew Cuomo the names of its employees receiving bonuses, which have been requested by both Cuomo and Congress, in exchange for confidentiality, since many death threats have been sent to the company, including one by decapitation. But the AG is refusing to take the names. Why? Because he’s an asshole man-child. (Andy-boy says that he deals with threats like this all the time, which we certainly buy, and they’re not a problem.)
Cuomo Will Only Take Names From AIG If He Can Leak Them To The Press For Tarring And Feathering

“asshole man child” Well put. You must have been an honors English major.
Turd-burglar, Bess. AC is a turd-burglar.
“asshole man-child, forever embittered by his cuckoldry”
yes, BF Barney Frank deals with these threats all the time, but feels secure knowing no potential murderers will touch him when they realize he just performed A to O on his intern
Why should any of you give a damn if the AIG names get published? After all, aren’t they a big part of the reason many of you lost your jobs?
Why give a f*k about them or their familes? They didn’t give a f*k about you or yours as they went about doing their AIG-FP thing?
The fear that death threats instil in the deserving is good. It sends a strong message to everyone that the 10-year partaay just might finally be ending.
TGFD said months ago that the blood of the greedy was going to end up getting spilled. The DB crowd laughed and called me names.
The Guy from Delaware
TGFD you are an imbecile because you don’t understand that people are concerned because of the precedent it sets, not because they are about the AIG personnel themselves. Cursing just makes you sound more juvenile.
@5 is an ex-government Bureaucrat.
Go back to delaware.
@#6…
I believe I understand the precedent-setting nature of the AIG name list. Actually, I don’t have a problem with it. TGFD likes the fear aspect too. Frankly, I say it’s about time something like this happened.
BTW, TGFD likes to curse.
The Guy from Delaware
Let’s see, retarded douche from delaware…because death threats have been made on INNOCENT CHILDREN, and exposing their parents’ names could put them in danger?
fucking idiot.
TGFD is the reason the names should remain confidential.
Cuomo can’t indicate “I deal with them all the time” and say it’s comparable. He chose a public life – he ran for office. AIG folks (and I loathe them and what they’ve done) didn’t.
I think the deal should be: “if they give back their bonuses, we will keep the names confidential”. BUY your privacy, assholes!
Funny how quickly a mob mentality spreads. I feel the AIG bonus situation is terrible but they should be honored contracts. At the end of the day, these efforts are simply undermining the possibility of AIG paying back its loan. Say what you want about the clowns in the financial products group, the franchise value of everyone dealing with TARP is continuing to worsen, much by their own doing, but also by the circus in Washington (and the mob pandering).
I want to see BF squeel like a pig. Actually, maybe i dont
@12 Guess what, AIG never was going to be able to pay back those loans, ever. Hell, in one quarter they lost approximately two decades worth of profits. The thing is shot and nobody there should be making any money. The people at AIG-FP are lucky that they will not see any jail time. They should count their blessings.
Given all the threats, in all seriousness anyone “outed” by Cuomo or Fwank ought to sue them personally. The only legitimate reason such information can be subpeonaed is for an criminal investigation or legal proceeding. As long as they pretend that’s what they’re doing then the subpeonas are legit, but they’re not allowed to demand information just because they damn well please. Just because the gov’t owns a chunk doesn’t change that one bit. Companies aren’t obligated to disclose employee compensation to shareholders.
It’s a pretty major breach of conduct for a DA to publicly disclose information for an ongoing investigation. Spitzer got away with that kinda shit because it somehow magically leaked and no one had the balls to pursue the matter, but he should have been disbarred for it.
In this case, since it exposes people to real danger (as stupid as that is, it’s still true), there’s probably good grounds to sue. And since publicly disclosing information gotten via subpeona can’t be justified in terms of their (Cuomo/Frank’s) public duties, the liability ought to be personal rather than governmental
If it were me I’d go after Cuomo and Frank personally. It’s not like they could get hated any more than they already will be.
Dear TGFD,
I would like to send you a postcard. Where should I mail it to ? It is rather personal, so I would prefer to send it to a home address.
Thanks !
let’s tar and feather greasy Cuomo and hang him up above the NYSE
