NAFTA SCHMAFTA

final_mexico.jpgThe United States openly violated the NAFTA treaty last week. True, there’s a mess of a gang war along Mexico’s border with the United States, but closing the southern border to truck traffic (long a goal of unions in the United States) is a no-no under the terms of the treaty and Mexico has fired a return volley, smacking a number of U.S. exports with tariffs up to 45%. Ouch.
You’d think these people never heard of the Great Depression. Smoot-Hawley here we come!

Mexican trucks are not maintained well and the drivers are usually drunk aholes without licenses. If a trucker gets in an accident they just abandon the rig and run.

Hey #2 read a little bit before spewing xenophobic comments. They cancelled a program that US certified the trucks/drivers for those concerns.

GOd if I were a trucker in Mexico I’d be wasted 24/7

I think the US should put up a fence on the Mexican side of the border. Deport an illegals and allow only people (educated Europeans, Indians, Chinese, etc) with degrees to stay.
These illegals got mortgages and they behaved like a typical Latin American country – Default!

Explain the link between Smoot Hawley and the GD. Cause and effect? Correlated only?
What the hell does that have to do with protecting our borders from illegal trafficking?

16, explain the link between allowing legal and trained truckers to drive in the country as part of a trade agreement and protecting borders from illegal trafficking? It is not even cause and effect, it is meth and effect.
