Well, no one ever claimed that Mirek Topolánek, the (quasi) Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, was soft spoken (particularly aggressive photographers), so we aren’t particularly surprised to hear him describe the stimulus plans of the United States as “the road to hell.” Perhaps he was just cranky (he was been shown the door by the Czech Parliament just yesterday and this whole missile shield thing is enough to annoy the most stoic Eastern European statesman) or he was just prepping the waters for Obama’s up coming visit to Prague. Whatever the case, you can bet Obama and Mirek will be studiously ignoring each other for some time to come, and, really, Mirek has nothing on Maxine Waters anyhow.

Lotta hot tail in Prague
I was going to say they know more about making dirty videos than we do but when it comes to finance….not so much.

You can get a steak and a hummer for $10 beans in Prague. Just a little FYI
Mirek Topolánek actually knows what he’s talking about as opposed to Maxine. I’m appalled and you should be embarrassed that you ever compared the two.
Czech premier? Is that less relevant than Turkish dog catcher? What is czech anyway? Some form of failed state?
Isn’t this guy one of those free market loonies in the middle of socialist europe?
Um….peeps, here’s the thing: If anyone knows what the road to hell looks like first hand it’s a Czech, a Russian, a Ukranian, an Estonian, etc.
Listen up. They’ve seen this movie before and they’re telling you that you’re not going to like how it ends.
Maxine Waters is hot! A good protegee for CNBC.
She should cover any Erin when the latter goes to vacation.
A combo of Maxine Waters and Mark Haines
can make financial reporting accurate and fun.
I agree, but on the other hand do you think it is gonna be warm down here? it might be cold? It might be hot. I dont like Russia because of the cold.
Americans always talk about socialized Europe but what do you think the US has become?
People have more personal rights and liberties in socialized Germany than Americans do now in the US.
People in the top tax rate over there actually pay lower taxes than people in NYC do, plus there is no property tax, something like $ 200. per year for the sewer.
Rents in Berlin are dirt cheap – $ 1500. a month will get you a 2,000 sq.ft. apt. in an Art Nouveau villa near the city center.
Munich/Hamburg/Frankfurt rents are more but are easily less than half of those in Manhattan and house prices are around 40% of what they would be in NY/NY/CT or California.
Add good beer, great hiking, excellent skiing, and Germany is not such a bad deal at the moment.
I think the Washington Hottie Max should have a dialogue with the Czech P. Minister to discuss his problem with US
stimulus pak, and to resolve the world financial crisis immediately.
I’m sure the Washington Hottie has solutions to the problem but is coy about it.
Not a fan of Obama but what does a 2 bit clown from Czech republic know about finance and market stabilization? I think US should slap this idiot as after all we are number 1!
Speak no truths that differ from the wishes of The Messiah! So sayeth Rahm Emanuel.
Prime Minister Topolánek WHO IS YOUR CEO??
@14
Sad, isn’t it? When America becomes too socialist for the Europeans, it’s time to move to the old country.
@ 14 – auf wiedersehen!
