Oh no they didnt! How DARE CNBC question a progressive leader and tax-rule-maker-in-chief uncomfortable questions about taxation? That too when that leader actually represents the great John Stewart’s congressional district and is someone Stewart voted for?
CNBC is in for a world of pain. The Daily Show is now gonna rip them apart. You just watch. How DARE they?

@1- cnbc was completely right in their questions, but please don’t miss the forest for the trees. cnbc, largely, is wrong an stupid.

the reaction of the global governments is staggering, the witch hunt mentality is frightening and they are seriously compounding the problems. this is the time when dipsh*t politicians get their time in the sun, they get paid the same no matter what, they get more press coverage than at any other time and they feel more important than they really are, all a recipe for this sh*t to go to their heads and for them to start legislating like crazy in the name of fixing the problem. seriosuly worrying!

    some funny sh*t…
cnbc turns the discussion and heat around on good old rangy

This kind of populist bullshit leads fucked up people to pack a Uhaul full of ammonium nitrate and kill innocent people. See Oklahoma City.

Hope you were trying to be ironic by spelling “erroneous” erroneously

how bad would this bill, in its current form, devastate NYC?

  10. Posted by guest | March 19, 2009 at 11:22 AM

How is it that the likes of Charlie Rangel, Barney Frank, and Maxine Waters have any power? Our grandparents’ generation would be blown away by what has happened to this country they helped build.

  11. Posted by guest | March 19, 2009 at 11:22 AM

what does Rangel use on his hair to make it straight and shiny? Maybe he is inhaling that stuff as well.

  12. Posted by guest | March 19, 2009 at 11:36 AM

When did Don King get elected?

  13. Posted by guest | March 19, 2009 at 11:39 AM

I’m no H&R Block tax specialist, but I’m guessing the top rate will end up at 80% in NYC maybe?
That would be for anyone who still has a job in that tax bracket and who isn’t well-connected enough to have friends in the Partei who can Rangle them an exemption.
Who is gonna pay your salary then, Mr. City Bus Driver?

I have a relatiely un-PC theory about all of this, but will hold my tongue. But things are bubbling.

  15. Posted by Mikeshardlemon | March 19, 2009 at 11:41 AM

@1 Jon Stewart does not live in Rangel’s district.

  16. Posted by guest | March 19, 2009 at 11:45 AM

@15- yeah, why don’t you hold your tongue, even though we can all guess what racist theories are “bubbling” around in your head.

@11 – If you create a poorly educated and unskilled underclass and give them just enough etitlements to be dependent on you but not smart or energetic enough to overthrow you, then you’ve secured yourself a complacent block of voters for life.
Wait until the latest baby boom hits us with what, 40% born to unwed mothers — there can’t be that many rich Hollywood actresses behind those numbers, can there? Have fun paying for those shitheads from the cradle to the grave for the rest of your taxable life.

    @18/19
you are not suggesting an ulterior motive of the welfare state defenders , are ya?
some of us concluded long ago just how elitist (dare I say racist) “democratic” policies actually are.
“we will promise you just enough money from those greedy rich bastards (to keep you out of the workforce), just keep voting for us.”

  20. Posted by guest | March 19, 2009 at 1:10 PM

@ 17, wow, not everytime the discussion centers on a minority is it ‘racist.’ you are the problem.

  21. Posted by guest | March 19, 2009 at 1:59 PM

@20 – Sorry for the double post, but sure I am.
My grandparents came over here penniless in 1922 from Ireland and raised eight kids/five taxpaying millionaires. Their secret? Hard work, two married parents (with a Mama who beat the crap out of them when they didn’t behave) and Catholic schools.
Find many good public schools in the poor neighborhoods in D.C. or the Bronx? It’s not for a lack of money spent per head — in D.C. they already spend about $ 15,000. per student. Yet it’s the Democrats, who claim to be the ones who care the most, who are against vouchers or any alternative to the shitty public schooling offered in those neighborhoods and who were responsible for the marriage penalty which has effed those families up over several generations.
Talk about keeping a brother down in the name of helping him.
Anyone catch the recent hypocrisy of Our Prez (who attended private schools in the US) voting against a voucher program that is working in D.C. which is paying to send two inner city kids to Sidwell Friends, where he chose to send his own children for “security reasons” %#$!?
“Well, um, uh, well, the President hopes they will make an exception for those two children. Next question, adoring press pool?”

@18 nailed it. Just wait until Obama allows all the illegal immigrants to stay in the country as long as they promise to become “good” citizens, and of course register to vote as Democrats. Instant majority for the next 50 years. Hello welfare state.
