I just saw these idiots going down Pine. I am glad I’m on a high floor and thus unable to read their moronic signs.

  5. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 3:13 PM

I blame our public school system… The general lack of understanding regarding economic principles in this country (and among protesters) is staggering.
These protesters need to GTFO and go live in Cuba/Venezuela and let us know how that works out for them.

    “Pakistan USA Freedom Forum” wtf?

The guy on the top is right. We should revert to socialism and government controlled markets…they worked out great for the USSR, etc.
…or are we already on our way?

  10. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 3:25 PM

“a job is a right”? seriously?

  11. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 3:26 PM

King Obama will Save Us ALL!! amen.

  12. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 3:26 PM

Gosh, I miss my home country. Last time I heard this (in Russian) was in May 1st parade, on Red Square. USSR was still USSR.
And my parents thought they were taking me to capitalism. How wrong they were!

evidently these protestors do not have JOBS! Lazy ass motherfuckers need to go get a j.o.b.

  15. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 3:32 PM

#14, they don’t want to GET a job. they want it to be handed to them. better yet – not a job, just a check. preferably for the amount of money equal to bonus of somebody they have been reading about.

  16. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 3:32 PM

    @ 10
i spit up my coffee when i read that sign as i was going to type your response
i never get to march or protest. i would like to go to tea party on april 15th but im too busy fucking working

  17. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 3:34 PM

@5…school system is close, but you need to look at the d-bags setting policy in public schools.

  18. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 3:34 PM

@14- I’m not defending them, but how out of touch do you have to be to get that right now, there are many, many people who want jobs but can’t get them? for example, thousands of laid off finance professionals, some of whom have been out of work for months?

  19. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 3:36 PM

#18 – I can bet my right hand that none of “finance professionals” would stoop to stand right in front of places of potential employement. Those people are busy reworking resumes, getting their applications ready for B-Schools and speaking to job agents.

$1,000 to the person that goes out and kicks the crap out of the guy holding the sign saying “A job is a right”.
There has to be a Mexican in the vicinity that will do it!

  23. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 3:40 PM

wtf is a ‘pakistan-usa freedom forum’? what are those jihadi douche-bags doing here in the first place? dont they have some girls to behead or indian cities to bomb?

Offtopic but where the heck is the iPhone version of Dealbreaker? I thought that was coming this week.
And before you pricks call me an ass, the iPhone version of Dealbreaker is a right. As is an iPhone in every pocket of every man, woman, and child in this country, except for bonus receiving Tarp twerps who will get an iPhone but will be taxed at 200% before being forced to donate them to be used as gifts by Premier Obama.

  32. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 3:52 PM

    @ 25
im in for 1000 as well but i need to see it on youtube before 5

  33. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 4:06 PM

@18 Many more contructive things to do than protest. Go volunteer at a hospital or charity. You don’t need to become a douchebag just because you are unemployed.

  34. Posted by american bandersnatch | April 3, 2009 at 4:16 PM

I love that sign. It just stops you in your tracks and makes you go “hmm”.

  35. Posted by FUNdamental | April 3, 2009 at 4:17 PM

I think my pics are better than anal’s.
And dear sign holder, it’s notcapitalism that doesn’t work, it’s you.

  36. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 4:26 PM

Hilarious. All the so-called smart people have brought this financial shit upon themselves and now they are squealing like pigs caught under a gate. Guess what? You ain’t so smart are you?

  37. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 4:32 PM

@20- whether or not your friends would protest is not the point. You made a rather tone-deaf comment that these people should “get a job!” when that is not necessarily possible. Poll your finance friends. I bet they know a lot of hard working finance professionals who’ve been trying and failing to get a job for months.

    @ FUN
No umbrella + boss with stopwatch + “meh” bb curve cam = meh pics. Truth be told, I was a bit overwhelmed by the sheer stupidity in the air. I almost started to hyperventilate, had to get the f’ outa there ASAP (so I could get drenched on the way back to the office, awesome!)
    @37
What the f*ck are you talking about?

  39. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 4:37 PM

Any “right” which imposes obligation on others is no right at all.

  40. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 4:38 PM

    @18,38
Hey dumbass – I made the job remark. Are you aware of underemployment? I bet you are. No shine my shoes bitch!

#38 – everybody I know – including dozens of Lehman people – have since found jobs. There ARE jobs out there for people who are worth them.

  44. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 5:28 PM

    @12
I was thinking exactly the same thing. Hey, but why should they listen to us? We’re just the dumb Ruskies that screwed everything up in the implementation. Had we done communism/socialism right (like these douches are going to do), we would have had Utopia.
Ever notice how you can’t find one person in Moscow to extol the virtues of Socialism but every American institution is suddenly stuffed full of breathless socialists?

  45. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 5:54 PM

If everyone is given everything (including a job) by the government then everybody is poor except the leeches at the top of the government/politburo food chain. Yes, give them a government job, pay them “international credits” when they’ve abolished the dollar and then they can wait in bread lines after work. What a bunch of morons.

  46. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 6:11 PM

    Peace! Land! Bread!
Workers of the World Unite! [so that you're all in one place when we send you to the Gulag].

  47. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 6:54 PM

I cannot recall a time in history when government intervention into the market produced desirable results. I imagine these sheeple have combed through history and came to the same empirical truth.
Education in economic issues should be mandatory.

  48. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 7:07 PM

Chuck D must be lonely, no power left to fight…

  49. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 8:54 PM

You Wall St. Pu**ies are just as bad as those trust fund radicals with the signs. Sad thing is some actually think shuffling around money for a living is a noble profession. This country is sunk! MBA’s aren’t worth toilet paper.

  50. Posted by guest | April 3, 2009 at 9:39 PM

“Education in economic issues should be mandatory.”
Why? So Krugman can teach them that government intervention is the way to salvation?

  51. Posted by guest | April 4, 2009 at 7:30 AM

@21 — this is one of the last places I would’ve expected to see crass references. shitty fucking bad all the same though.

  52. Posted by Conflict of disinterest | April 4, 2009 at 10:32 AM

A job IS a right, just not the $100k with benefits union job on which that schmuck insists. Why not sign-on with MTA to pick up trash off the tracks? Surely MTA would hire someone to do that, since it is apparently beneath all present employees…

  53. Posted by Anal_yst | April 4, 2009 at 11:21 PM

    @ Conflict
Where does it say a job is a right? Please, enlighten me. Nowhere in Locke (et AL)’s “social contract” did anyone make that promise. Nowhere in the constitution is a right to a job stated, and as far as I know, the same applies to pretty much every other similar document.
The right to PURSUE a job, I’ll give you that, but in order to secure employment, you have to EARN it. The majority of these fucktards are just lazy and ignorant (I will give you that some have legitimate concerns/situations).
    END.OF.STORY.

Is that Jimmy Cayne in the top pick (perhaps reaching into his pocket for a doobie)? Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

  55. Posted by guest | April 5, 2009 at 3:11 PM

These guys are right, scum slime wall street jackasses destroyed the worlds economy and retire wealthy. I would be nice if instead of protesting they did something productive, like bringing an ak-47 to the merrill offices and doing away with some of the manager fucks, do the world a favour.

  56. Posted by guest | April 6, 2009 at 9:58 AM

In Soviet Russia, jobs have a right to you!
