Citi: Watch Your Backs

No mention of not displaying the Big C logo, which we’ll take to mean is Vikram’s green light to shout it loud and proud. Get out there and rabble rouse.

Subj: Demonstrations on Wall Street this Friday and Saturday

This Friday and Saturday, United for Peace and Justice will hold rallies directed against the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as targeted demonstrations against Wall Street firms.
On Friday, the group has scheduled a rally and march in the Wall Street area. Please note that during the rally, which is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. and is directed against firms receiving bailouts, streets in the area may be closed to vehicular or pedestrian traffic. The rally is scheduled to close with a 5:15 p.m. event in Foley Square. The NYPD does not anticipate acts of civil disobedience during the demonstration.
There is also a potentially larger rally planned for Saturday that will begin on Broadway and continue down Wall Street past the New York Stock Exchange and conclude in the Battery Park area.

Off-topic, but did I just hear Bambam refer to Bretton Woods as “Roosevelt and Churchill sitting around with a brandy”? Is this guy so clueless that he doesn’t know Roosevelt had been dead for 3 months when the conference started, and that 44 nations were involved, not two?

    don’t these people have jobs?

  5. Posted by guest | April 2, 2009 at 2:35 PM

  8. Posted by guest | April 2, 2009 at 2:54 PM

just a thought, a bit off topic but……..when the G-20 goes to give the IMF $1T and the leaders reach into their pockets….Obamas coming with nothing but some lint and maybe a bic.
He’s like the guy you don’t want to be standing next to at the bar when paying because he never has any money.
I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for……

    clown@#7…
Go beat one up, but maybe you won’t be so eager to do so after you find out that many of the demonstrators are people just like you, less the job they once had, of course.
Not every demonstrator agrees with that United Peace and Justice outfit on every issue.
    Guest@#5…
    Good post. Thank you.

    is anyone?

  11. Posted by guest | April 2, 2009 at 3:13 PM

@ 10- False; if they were “just like [me]” then they wouldn’t be protesting in the first place.

    clown@#12…
Maybe you’re right. Go beat one up then. Don’t pay any attention to TGFD.

@13 nobody pays any attention to TGFD

    @ TGFD
Fair enough point, but I’d have to disagree. The website of the group organizing the “rally” is f*cking retarded. Their demands are myriad, and many are just blatantly ridiculous for a variety of reasons that should be entirely obvious to anyone with 1/2 a brain.
They are nothing like me, which is probably true for most DB’ers.

  15. Posted by guest | April 2, 2009 at 4:03 PM

    TGFD
these people are the same group (diff corporate name) who protested outside Citi and other banks 10 years ago demanded they lower their lending standards to push “affordable housing”
ACORN and its affiliates hire union thugs and welfare folk to protest for the day outside of their “targets”. read about the AIG exec bus tour from a few weeks ago. all progaganda to push the “destroy the rich” populism coming from Prompter in Chief

  16. Posted by guest | April 2, 2009 at 4:03 PM

@3 – You mean the same guy who planned to tour “all 57 states” in the United States?
Maybe Blooper “when the stock market crashed in 1929 FDR went on television” Biden prepped him?

  17. Posted by guest | April 2, 2009 at 4:35 PM

    Anal_Yst@#15 & Guest@#16…
TGFD just figured that some/many of the protestors are laid-off Wall/Main Streeters with no particular affilliation to that dumb-ass organizing outfit, but perhaps I’m wrong.
I don’t know what to think anymore.

Maybe someone should enlighten the unenlightened that most of Wall Street no longer works on Wall Street.
