On Again Off Again

With all the talk of buying American lately, and with Obama taking the opportunity with the cameras to give Chrysler a bit of free endorsement work (Chrysler, we hope you file that on your taxes)…

So these are some of the steps that we’re taking to make it easier for Americans to buy a car. If you are considering buying a car, I hope it will be an American car. I want to remind you that if you decide to buy a Chrysler, your warrantee will be safe — because it is backed by the United States government. And to further boost demand for autos, we are working to accelerate the purchase of a federal fleet, and we’re also working with Congress on fleet modernization legislation that can provide a credit to consumers who turn in old cars and purchase cleaner, more fuel-efficient cars.

…we thought we would revisit the Administration’s driving habits.
Of course, one fact missing from our old exploration on the topic was that Obama traded in his Chrysler 300C for a Ford Escape Hybrid in 2007 after putting a mere 20,000 miles on the Chrysler. Odd, Chrysler wasn’t good enough to hang on to back then. What’s changed?
Who drives what, after the jump.

    I saw this somewhere else a few weeks ago. The least you can do is credit the article you swiped the pics from and not pass it off as your own.

    They all drink foreign coffee too. Just like Republicans who drink coffee shat out of a Malaysian coon cat.
    I think I said that the last time this article came up.

    Re Civet coffee (for #8 et al):
    People believe that these civets know how ripe these berries are and they always pick the berries which are just right. So it’s safe to assume that the coffee beans in those berries will be the best too. It is also believed that enzymes in the stomach of the civet add to the coffee’s flavor by breaking down the proteins that give coffee its bitter taste. In many south asian countries, these civet droppings are collected, processed and are sold in International market. Since these dropping are rare to find, in the whole world, only 500 KGs of this coffee is produced every year, making it the “rarest” and the “costliest” coffee in the world. The processed coffee costs about $800/KG and unprocessed beans like the ones in this photo cost about $350/KG. In India, this coffee is produced only in BR Hills by a person named Ganesh, who leaves his coffee plantations for the Civets.

    Lets not BS around, these people don’t drive themselves so whatever car(s) are registered in their names are either driven by their kids and/or leftovers from before their ascension to such lofty posts.
    Also, Obama administration’s plan is f*cking retarded.
    That is all.

    It’s an old argument, but which is the American car: The Honda manufactured in Ohio/Indiana/Alabama or the GM/Chrysler car with major components made in Canada/Mexico?

    I have never seen a grouping of more pathetic cars then this. There are taxi cabs with more style. When Geitner has the best ride you know there is a problem!
    Mini vans? really?

    @14 Yes, Toyota taxis.

    I would rather drive a city bus then every car on this list. Obama’s doesnt count that’s already public transportation.

    Late to the comment party here, but, umm, if BO really had a 300C, and not just a regular old 300, he unloaded it for “environmental” reasons. Meaning, once he’s running for office he can’t be seen driving a sedan with a 5.7L HEMI under the hood. Hell, you can probably get a Tahoe with a smaller engine.
