Re: Populist outrage…..Sen. Grassley just kicked Kneale’s ass on CNBC!! Invited Kneale to Iowa to meet with the public. Kneale choked like the Patriots in their last Superbowl !!
canyon of zeroes
@4- what’s hilarious is that Kneale has been stoking the outrage himself and then today was apparently told by a producer to take the other side. It was so fucking fake, his outrage and the outrage.
The individual in photo #1 holding the “America Inc” sign, has upon his head… what?
Anal_Yst is in the trenches. Thanks for the photos.
The Guy from Delaware
anal_yst – bberry or iphone? those look like good pics, but they are a little cloudy. couldn’t tell if it was just the rain.
DB set up a fund and I will kick in an appropriate share to buy all those assholes one-way tickets to Russia.
@cluzo- not where sure you are, but it’s a torrential downpour in Manhattan right now.
@9- why Russia?
Government “help” to business is just as disastrous as government persecution… the only way a government can be of service to national prosperity is by keeping its hands off.-Ayn Rand
Does the banner in the second photo read: Bail out people; unemployed, workers, STUDENTS????
WTF, students need to be bailed out? Out of what? They’re not working. They are living on interest free loans from the government. They’ve got the oldest bailout going.
These people are idiots. I hope they get struck by lightening.
@ 4, thanks for reminding me. here’s something for you:

My apologies for the repeats, I did not double submit or refresh- weird. – weird.
@13…where did you get your zero interest student loan? And it was sufficient to live on? Wow. You must be cheaper than I am, and that’s saying something.
And the plebes simultaniously give their overlords even greater power to steal from them with. I guess we can at least appreciate the irony.
guests@#1,5,9…
Many of those people have little or nothing in common with the clown outfit that organized today’s march.
Why sneer at them? They don’t have jobs anymore. Maybe even some are ex-Wall St. They’re just trying to be heard. That’s all.

@10 – in an office in midtown. low floor. the rain seems to be coming and going in fits and starts – didn’t want to pass judgement.

The only reason the US living standard is so high is due to the slick bankers on Wall Street/Federal Reserve system.
If Bretton-Woods was never signed, these protesters would be working in the fields instead of the Mexicans.
One of the few things funnier than a poorly written post from someone trying to act all superior is when that same moron posts his misspelled and grammatically incorrect comment 5 times. At least I can appreciate the irony…

#32, unfortunately nobody remembers that. Everybody rips the profits (and blames the greedy rich for not giving more) and everybody blames the rich when bad times come (and still blame them for not giving more). And the “rich” are the ones earning the money/getting taxed (75% of ALL taxes in America are paid by top 5% earners)…and the rest are actually subsidized by them. Nevertheless – everything is STILL the fault of those that actually can, do and make! Because they do too little, according to “little guy”

#32…whats a Mexican?
@ 38
Mexicans arent lazy at all. Find me American day laborers waiting outside a Home Depot looking for work
mexicans understand no work = no food
americans understand no work = government handout on someone else’s dime
Whoops … Sorry for the spam comments.
@7 The thing on his head is a bucket. Because we’re blind to their tyranny.
#39, you obviously did NOT read the comment of #38.
Question was: what’s a Mexican?
Answer was – A Mexican IS a substitute for those Americans who are too lazy to do the work themselves and prefer to remain on social assistance.
Yes, Mexicans indeed understand that no work means no food. Americans, on the other hand, think that work has to be done – for free – by “riches” – and that they – without work – deserve all the profits.
these guys are so lame compared to the london protestors. where are the costumes and riot police? im glad its raining…
@ 42
you are correct
39
us, russia, china, saudi arabia–looks like those are our peers, so we may as well get used to it.. why are people still quoting Ayn Rand, btw??
#45, because Ayn Rand described everything that is going on today – in detail – almost a century ago. Including speeches and measures by government to “curb” the crisis. Maybe if some people at Congress and Senate read anything past nursery rhymes we would not be where we are today.
maybe that’s tear gas?
@ 45 -
would you prefer Alinsky or Keynes?
@33 please spare me the English teacher nonsense. This is the Internet and no one cares.
@49…care to post that 6 more times to make sure we can all see it?
@48- yes… I always thought Rand was a hottie who told men (young, inexperienced men) what they wanted to hear. I never thought there were so many people who took her seriously. Marx described a lot of this stuff, too. So did Orwell. And there’s no point quoting historical figures since we’re being ruled by technocrats and they don’t give a $hit.
@51
Forget about all of them, Spengler puts everything together and has been dead right for the past 90 years. The only them he missed was the information/ technology age.
51 – rand warned of this; marx encouraged it
Personally, the last picture is my favorite.
“Jobs at union wages for all” on one sign, and “Fund jobs and human needs” on the other.
I only had a few minutes but I think those two pretty much sum-up the kind of collective intelligence and conceptual understanding with which we’re dealing.
These people are like the “causeheads” in the movie PCU, everyone was there, across the liberal retard spectrum, from the “help immigrants” crowd to the “universal healthcare” to the general “rich guys bad” types.
It took amazing will power (and an overbearing boss) to not stop at the bar for a few shots on the way back to the office, ugh…
Damn I miss my job downtown.
51 – rand warned of this; marx encouraged it
@50 was accidental. You got anything better than spell check?

You are all full of shit. Just don’t lose money. It’s that easy.
@60 I know you won’t understand this but in the grand scheme of things you belong out there with them…right next to the guy with the sign “Capitalism Doesn’t Work”.
That you are inside typing like an idiot and not outside protesting like one was largely a matter of circumstance.
Good day.
@54/Anal I would love that movie for George Clinton alone
John GALT
Dammit, get yer pro/ant-agonists straight!
And, no, no one takes Ayn Rand seriously, ‘cept Fucking Greenspan, who’s found a “flaw” in his thinking.
When, exactly, are we going to figure out how to make capitalism work for a higher fraction of society? Just why the fuck should so many people lead such fearful, insecure, just plain crappy lives, slaving away for such a grotesquely miniscule fraction of the wealth available? (It can’t all be due to the influence of TV). Why should some “members” of society reap billions of dollars for their service of allocating capital, and others lack basic necessities? Inquiring minds…

Because some individuals are more productive, efficient, creative, intelligent, diligent and ambitious than others. It is a risk/reward system. It is the premise our country was founded on – the ability and freedom to make your own life for yourself. Its why millions of Europeans risked their wealth, property and lives to cross a perilous and cold ocean. It is the foundation that motivates us to innovate and to work hard.
Those who do not have basic necessities do not deserve basic necessities because they likely will not work for them. Guess what, its Darwinism applied to society. Individuals can either work their asses off or they can die. Just because we do not live in forests does not mean we no longer live in a state of nature.
Societal obligation to those “leftovers” is an illusion created by a confluence of unproductive people. It is fostered by people whose parents were incredibly productive; so productive in fact it allowed their offspring to lead a life a sloth to dwell on ‘fairness.’ Meanwhile the rest of us work our asses off to provide for ourselves and our families. If I work harder than you, if I can think of more efficient uses of resources, do I not deserve more? That, to me, is ‘fairness.’ Perhaps you should examine why we/you owe anyone anything. Why am I obligated to provide for anyone but myself and my family?
Most of society has benefited enormously from capitalism. In fact, all of society has because we have social welfare programs to ensure that the poor are not dying in the streets like in India, China and Egypt. Look at the great manner of things that our middle class has now that their parents did not.
Get abroad and start comparing America to other places in the world. Then bemoan the state of our system and our capitalism. If you take away one principle about life, be it this:
LIFE IS NOT FAIR. IT NEVER WAS AND IT NEVER WILL BE.
Now grow up and improve your own life.
Readers of this blog seem so wonderfully smug, standing at their windows, pissing down on the peasants who dare to protest. It is a bit reminiscent of the Russian upper classes as the Bolshie Rabble rousers tried to stir up the masses. They too were so sure of their natural superiority, of their place guaranteed among the elite. It didn’t quite work out the way they expected, now did it? Watch this space!
There ARE people who take Ayn Rand seriously. These are much the same people who think that McDonalds is “cuisine” and Hesse is spirituality and FOX is “news.”
Ekraus, do not forgot this: Those same people think that you are a moron…
Sadly, Vladimir Putin has told Russian lawmakers to support bankers rather than attack them. Obama on the flipside is probably long pitchfork manufacturers in anticipation of the next idiotic statement from congress.
‘They too were so sure of their natural superiority, of their place guaranteed among the elite. ‘
I’m not naturally superior, I’ve met at least dozens of people smarter than I at grad school, Wall St, Corp America, and elsewhere. Your assumption that success came ‘naturally’ is both ironic and highly amusing, esp for those of us who grew up in places where 0.0001% ever knew anybody who worked in Manhattan.
I’ve just worked my ass of since I was 14, both at ‘real jobs,’ and at the lifelong job of learning and education.
Those who are too ignorant, or useless or lazy to do so should STFU. Or get on the ladder. Either way is fine with me.
