You could probably find a lot of people who are against bailouts but this morning the most unintentionally hilarious one is Craig T. Nelson. Coach went on Glenn Beck last night to promote this message. He’s pretty steaming mad about all this (“I’m just sick and tired of it”), and you know what he’s going to about it? Stop paying his taxes, that’s what. Whether or not they see eye-to-eye on the whole bailout nation situation, T. Geith’s ears will surely perk up when it’s put that way.
Beck: Are you saying you personally won’t pay income tax anymore?
Nelson: I’m really thinking about it, Glenn. As a fiscally responsible grandfather, there are programs they’re asking me to fund that I refuse to fund. They should be allowed to go bankrupt! We’re a capitalistic society. I go into business, I don’t make it, I go bankrupt. They’re not going to bail me out. I’ve been on food stamps and welfare,* anyone bail me out? No. I’m just SO SICK AND TIRED OF IT. I’m sick and tired of it!
*When was this?

    who is Mr. Galt?

  2. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:07 AM

I refuse to listen to this guy until he apologizes for not having Rifleman take a knee in the final seconds of that rain-soaked game versus Ampipe’s arch-rival, which subsequently led to Stef vandalizing his home and him losing a chance at getting the heck out of Ampipe via a college football scholarship!

  3. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:07 AM

@1 i think there is a better reference here.
Who is Wesley Snipes is the better question.

  4. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:08 AM

That made for a good laugh.

  5. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:10 AM

he’s appealing to geithner’s baser instincts. genius.

  6. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:10 AM

    This is all Dauber’s fault.

  7. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:11 AM

Isn’t being on food stamps and welfare a government bailout?

  8. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:11 AM

wait, when was he on food stamps and welfare?

  9. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:12 AM

What are food stamps and welfare if not a social bailout ? dumbass.

  10. Posted by sugardaddy | May 29, 2009 at 9:12 AM

Sorry but aren’t welfare and food stamps a bailout?

  11. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:12 AM

I’ll take “In Jail for Tax Evasion” for $600, Alex.

  12. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:13 AM

@9/10- yes. but the more important point/question is, when was craig t. nelson on food stamps? he just pulled that one out of his ass.

  13. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:14 AM

@11 you hit the Daily Double!
(cheesy 80s sounding electronic sounds in background)

  14. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:16 AM

Stef, his coal mining brothers, and his father, Pop, all had to stay on welfare and foodstamps due to this guy Nelson’s poor decision in that game and subsequent grudge he held against Stef. That is why I refuse to listen to him!

  15. Posted by Anal_yst | May 29, 2009 at 9:19 AM

Perhaps a character he played @ some point was on welfare/food stamps?
    Yea, I have no idea…

  16. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:20 AM

Craig T Nelson is the new Stamford CHOMPERS.

  17. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:21 AM

@anal_yst- never much took him for a method actor.

  18. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:21 AM

Those dumbass AIG traders got bailed out and bonuses. Craig T. Nelson got food stamps but no bonus. Excluding all the Hollywood pussy thrown at him over his career (AIG dumbass traders can only whip their skeeters hoping for that…), some would say Craig T has led a challenged life.

  19. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:24 AM

Just as there are socialist, big government, PRO-union idiots pushing the left’s agenda right now, there are PRO capatialist, self reliant and somewhat uneducated individuals that want to return to a much less centralized, big government agenda.
Coach is one. He may not be Ivy League educated, but, until all you Ivy Leaguers figure out the rest of us are the John Galts of the world, we will get more of the same.
I have met many Ivy Leaguers who could not hold a candle to highschool educated plumbing contractors, trucking company owners, etc.

  20. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:27 AM

@19….you must work as a peep show’s jizz mopper given the experiences you relate.

  21. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:30 AM

@19 – Good point. Harvard grads make shitty plumbers. Yale guys can barely drive a Prius, much less a truck.

  22. Posted by NotNasser | May 29, 2009 at 9:30 AM

“the rest of us are the John Galts”
Everybody who is NOT Ivy League is a John Galt? There are no unproductive parasitical folks in the world who did not go to an Ivy League College?
I think Rand is rolling over in her grave at that botched allusion.

  23. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:37 AM

Just take a knee.. just fall on the ball… is that so hard?? You had it man!! You had it!!!

  24. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:39 AM

I find this story to be good reading during my morning pounding my secretary in her ass session.

  25. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:43 AM

Screw Coach, I want to know what Luther and Dauber think.

  26. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:44 AM

I want you all to know that I have taken the necessary legal steps to see that my name is no longer associated with incredibly stupid, right wing neo-con capitalist views.

#28 – Are you my secretary?

  33. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 9:56 AM

I’m an ivy leaguer. What’s a John Galt?

Dauber would never consider such a harsh reaction.

Pity. They missed the opportunity for a ratings coup…after Craig finished, a sweaty, shirtless Barry could have stepped into shot, brandishing a flame thrower and spoke the epic quote from ‘Action Jackson’, “…how do you like your ribs?!”

  36. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 10:36 AM

    @2,14,23 – Keep ‘em comin! I can’t get enough!

  37. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 10:41 AM

Striking resemblance to Bill O’Reilly?! Hopefully he can do a biopic and stay of food stamps.

  38. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 10:47 AM

@ 19 I too am a self-reliant, somewhat uneducated individual that wants to return to a much less centralized, big government agenda. Well put.

  39. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 10:49 AM

The Washington Post reports this story in its video section right alongside some other compelling news items of the day… although its not the top story. The lead story is a drunken Janice Dickinson cursing as she falls down stairs on “Finland’s Next Top Model” (NSFW language).
The second video story informs us that some asshat who calls him/herself “Speidi” and Sanjaya have arrived in Costa Rica for the next taping of “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here”…
Then we have this story: Craig T. Nelson says he’s tired of paying taxes… closely followed by Mayim Bialik (“Blossom”) who gets fashion tips on the “What Not to Wear” season opener.
All of these share the same level of social importance IMHO.

  40. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 11:17 AM

@2, he actually got the job at Cal Poly and then came to the coal mine to offer Stef a scholarship.

  41. Posted by EvilBuzzard | May 29, 2009 at 11:18 AM

He’d better get a job at Treasury, or else non-payment of taxes would be illegal.

  42. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 11:30 AM

Maybe it was his mother on food stamps and welfare. So his mother got the bailout, not him. Otherwise, whoever shows up on Beck for an interview must have a few screws loose. Like this guy.

So he was okay with his taxes paying for roads he wasn’t driving on, schools his family wasn’t going to, wars we wasn’t benefiting from, but dear god, if one more dime is used to prop up the banking system that dictates the health of the economy…

    Who is Mike Jones?

  47. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 12:09 PM

I used to think Hayden Fox moved from Minnesota to Florida to test his coaching skills at the pro level, but this clip confirms that state income tax was at the center of his decision.

  48. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 12:49 PM

That guy totally looks like TV’s Coach.

  49. Posted by guest | May 29, 2009 at 1:35 PM

The actual interference call against Stef was questionable as well. I mean I know Coach warned him about that play in practice, and Stef did spray paint and throw garbage on his house (and in essence his family) but he did apologize and it was really more the hillbilly looking dude in the truck that put him up to it! But you gotta have Rifleman fall on the ball in that spot — simply unforgiveable!

I started college at 16, and I double majored in PHYSICS and philosophy. Don’t compare me to a freaking plumber. I’m better than a freaking plumber. I use a plumber’s mouth as my toilet and wipe my butt with his wife’s face.
