Apparently Andy Madoff has recently started staying inside with the shades drawn, after sharing a moment in front of an Upper East Side Chinese restaurant with a former employee of daddy. We're told fish boy and his girlfriend (fish girl Catherine Hooper) recently ran into Madoff Securities prop trader Reed Abend who, somewhat understandably, began to talk shit. At this time, Hooper took it upon herself to defend the family and started screaming at Abdend. Andy then shoved Reed, and punches by both were thrown in what was apparently "mostly a bitch fight but a very entertaining one at that." Anyway! It's in the Madoff brothers' contract that all mentions must accompany fishing pics, so enjoy some new ones after the jump.
Update: Apparently at one point Andy told Reed he "isn't the only victim," with the suggestion that this whole Ponzi scheme had hurt Andy deeply, too.

I read that as Andy poo-pooing Reed, because there are others (Carl Schapiro, et al.) who have lost a bundle.
Bernie is in jail to protect his kids and Ruthie - since I'm guessing Andy isn't working and isn't being foreclosed upon, he's got plenty stashed away, even if he lost some pittance for appearances' sake.

Maybe a tenth of that, but not all of it. You can't spend $52 billion. The vast majority of that was basically redistributed from the later to the early investors, who withdrew it and ran. The meeting went south in a hurry, allegedly ending in a flurry of fists between the two men after a heated exchange over cash.
Abend chewed out Andrew over his father's $65 billion scheme, which cost thousands of investors their life savings, a source said.
The spurned former securities trader trashed Bernard Madoff for shorting him $450,000 in bonuses and failing to treat him like family, Altchiler said.
But Andrew -- who defended his old man, as did gal pal Catherine Hooper, according to a report on Dealbreaker.com -- merely whined, "What about me?" the lawyer said.
