Actually, it was emailed. Have a link for the BP?

I do like the new Ally Bank commercials. The guy taking the toy truck from the fat kid seems symbolic of the gov’t screwing everyone who participates in its programs.

Agree with @4……the “pony” one is the best!

@2…Where is Big Picture’s attribution or did they steal it?

Now that GS and GMAC have become bank holding companies, are they subject to this special assessment of 5c per $100 in assets?
Doesn’t that mean GS and friends are going to have really big bills as this is applied to ASSETS and not deposits?

    Announced date: 5/21/09
    Completion date: 5/21/09
You gotta hand it to them–they work fast.

@9 – fast? or in secret?

I don’t get the fuss. Isn’t this how effective government is supposed to work? By the way, I’m from Chicago.

    Nature of Bid: Friendly
I imagine those boardroom discussions were just that: friendly.

    Takeover Fail
    Presidency Fail
    Government Fail

Perhaps Hugo Chavez will now rethink his opinion of the US. This is just part of Obama’s reaching out to the world that despises us. If we’re more like them, they’ll like us. Right?

    Dear #16,
    Some facts for your consideration:
Fannie and Freddie conservatorship – Bush Admin.
    AIG bail-out – Bush Admin.
    GM / Chrysler bail-out #1 – Bush Admin.
    TARP – Bush Admin.
    Please stop your whining.

@17 I was against all those too.
Can I keep whining then? Please?
    Love,
    @16

Its a regular Algonquin roundtable here — Yes, its true. I think “my yeast don’t stink.”
Your wit and eloquence is surpassed only by your towering intelligence. Do you have an RSS feed I can subscribe to? I don’t want to miss a single gem of brilliance that tumbles forth from your insightful mind.
Or perhaps in language you are more comfortable with: Fuck Shakespeare, you da man.

    Well done, BR.
Always the victim; it is your cuntish nature that off turns half your blog readers. Sorry we do not all have editors, and sorry for the free ice cream that is the web. It made you, and you are a decent read. Smart guy, occasionally bigoted, why are you obsessed with the last word? Your shitheaded and pathetic partisanship has come back to haunt you. Oh, no??? It was not Bush, but the political class that was corrupt? Tax Cheat Tim was a winner? Where were you on that? Man up, Cunt. You linked, but did not comment. I dig Billy S, and I enjoy you. To thine own self be true. You have never looked in the mirror, just passed judgment. Solid book, nicely done. What are you? Deal.

And if I missed it I do apologize. The Fucking nonsense that you spun re the CRE was abhorrent. Redlining did not cause this, but it was a blueprint for the criminal among us. Dereg is a red herring; it was unregulated scams that allowed the painting of the tape. Every bank was long RE and long credit; did they mean to be? That is the question.
