He starts in an official capacity on June 29, in the 9-11AM timeslot (where he'll compete for viewers with former colleagues Mark Haines and Erin Burnett, meaning someone's going to have to flash their tits and we hope it's Haines), but D.Rat's started working out with the team already. You know, so as to not get rusty and find his groove at the new office. How's it going so far? We've only caught this one clip but it doesn't seem too good! While his new and old employer both fall under the GE umbrella, they are apparently but distant cousins when it comes to style (so barely related that, in a pinch, could take each other to prom and it wouldn't be that weird...Dennis Kneale knows what we're talkin' about).
Big D was a guest host on Morning Joe yesterday and during an interview with Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm on the matter of General Motors, seemingly horrified his colleagues with his line of questioning. To us, people who are forced to watch CNBC all day and are familiar with the Englewood Cliffs Guide To Interviewing, it really doesn't seem that bad. But I guess at MSNBC, you're not allowed to get all up interviewee's grills, cut them off, and demand they answer the question before giving them the chance to do so. It's at around 4 minutes in that Joe and Co. start apologizing to Granholm, referring to D.Rat as "a spaz," instruct him to "ask a question and be quiet," and end the show by saying, "We're very sorry about Dylan."

Its a bit like watching Pauly Shore try to integrate into modern society in the 1980's blockbuster "Encino Man"

ewww, seems our boy is a little rusty already.

Nice hair, douchenozzle.
Is Dyl-Rat related to Anus by any chance?
Posted by guest , Jun 05, 2009 3:09PM
Would those be Erin B.'s enhanced jugs? Was that rumor ever proved/disproved?
Posted by guest , Jun 05, 2009 3:30PM
he is a f'ing spaz. he loves to listen to himself talk. his questions are like 2 minutes long!

@2- I love you for bringing Encino Man into the conversation. But it's the Brendan Fraser character, which Pauly Shore's loser friend Dave finds (while digging a hole in his backyard for a post-prom pool party), that they try to integrate into modern society. And it's 1992.

Granholm's turkey neck is most unappealing. She is prematurely haggy. Unfortunate.
Posted by guest , Jun 05, 2009 4:06PM
@14- she's 50. get over yourself.
Posted by guest , Jun 05, 2009 4:08PM
@2- Bess is correct.

Who the hell is this Dylan Ratigan guy you guys always are talking about?
Posted by guest , Jun 05, 2009 8:02PM
Just watching that interview made me feel and think D'Ratigay is a risky host.
He freaking talked a lot before asking a very simple question!
It's not a good strategy because it's going to throw off or confuse the guest.Didn't you notice at some point he had 2 or 4 questions in his "speech" but the guest answered only the last ones?
D'Ratigan's mouth is like a M16 rifle....bratatatatatatatat!
Posted by guest , Jun 05, 2009 9:20PM
i think that is just good old fashion reporting and the fact that he wants to get in a politicians face and ask hard questions is wonderful...when he starts asking about the fleecing of America via the fraud Goldman Sachs pulled on AIG, then you bozos should shut up and listen to what is the single biggest story in American history
Posted by guest , Jun 05, 2009 9:22PM
If Haines has to show his tits then Ratigan has to show his penis. Fair?

bess levin...nice try to diss Dylan...he is a great questioner...makes sense to the average person...but, understand your program to take him out...

WHAT'S THE FORMAT OF D'RAT'S SHOW?
I guess it's more of him talking and talking and talking.It's probably a male version of the View but with different guests everyday.I'm sure he can be a good Elizabeth Hasselbeck...lol
Maybe a JOE SPRINGER type show but with loser economists, financial analysts, bankers,hedge fund mgrs and businessmen as guests blaming each other.
Maybe Oprah advising men not to get married until they pass 35 years old like him.
Maxine Watters as co-anchor? Priceless!
There's nothing wrong (in fact great) him asking hard questions, it's about how he asks them.

WTF is with DRat saying "I am love with that woman"?? not once.. not twice.. but 4 fucking times!
how pathetic (tragic?) of a come-back is that to the simplest rebuke of his style/tactic/topic/whatever?
underscores that this guy wants only to be loved and/or famous.. and doesnt give a fuck what he has to say or do to be noticed.
over-under: 6 months tops.

Please, what is MSNBC thinking??? Ratigan is too much--too rude, too gruff, too offensive, too everything!! We are retired (in our 60's)and keep our TV on MSNBC all morning on two sets so we can hear it wherever we're working in the house so we don't miss any breaking news. When Ratigan starts, we will be changing channels to CNN. MSNBC, "Are you LISTENING??" "What are you THINKING??"
