Just Putting It Out There

CNBC will be airing an investigative documentary July 17 entitled, “Porn: The Business of Pleasure,” hosted by Melissa Lee. According to producers, the show will be “an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look inside the multi-billion pornography business, from the threats to its profitability to exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews with the industry’s biggest stars* to the one issue that could bring the adult industry to it’s knees.” Obviously, the question on all our minds: is this some sort of promotion for a series of low-budget pornos entitled “Bitches o’ CNBC”? And if yes, what combinations of talking heads would you like to see featured and in what scenarios?

“the one issue that could bring the adult industry to it’s knees”
I hope the misused apostrophe was in the original, Bess. More to the point, do you think CNBC realized the double entendre when they wrote that, or were they too busy self-fellating to notice?

  16. Posted by guest | June 19, 2009 at 1:00 PM

“the one issue that could bring the adult industry to it’s knees”

  23. Posted by FUNdamental | June 19, 2009 at 1:12 PM

Bess — what exactly is the “it” you’re putting out there? Volunteering for the assignment? Also that is the grossest tag in db history.

  24. Posted by guest | June 19, 2009 at 1:13 PM

@17 – agree. Charlie is definitely made for the Snuff genre.

  25. Posted by guest | June 19, 2009 at 1:13 PM

@FUN- while gross, I’m pretty sure there have been way worse tags from DB.

  26. Posted by guest | June 19, 2009 at 1:15 PM

@24- OMG how awesome would it be if CNBC decided to kill off Charlie in snuff porn?

  27. Posted by guest | June 19, 2009 at 1:15 PM

My personal favorite is corbinfisher dot com. Where the boys all look like first year analysts and have names to match as well – Kyle, Logan, etc.

Becky and Erin, first commence with the ass to ass, then we will talk about the A2M.

  36. Posted by guest | June 19, 2009 at 1:30 PM

What is bringing the industry to its knees, according to a friend of mine who works on the production side, is the staggering willingness of people to upload video of themselves having sex for free.
There will always be some tiny slice of the market that’s high-end and sells guys the idea that since they’re all wearing nice – well, some – clothes before they have sex and there is scenery, that chicks will be more willing to watch high-budget stuff with them. It’s small and piracy is hurting it hard. Regular porn is now in such vast supply that there’s almost no money to be made in it.
In ten years all that will be commercially available is a few high-budget films per year, and extreme fetish porn that requires significant budget and production backing (including the not insubstantial sums spent on legal vetting and jurisdictional control. No sending Seymour Butts DVD’s to Arkansas.) The rest will be YouPorn.

  37. Posted by guest | June 19, 2009 at 1:33 PM

I would pay a small fortune to have a video of Becky Quick bleaching her anus.
    Arthur Lange

  38. Posted by guest | June 19, 2009 at 1:35 PM

Porn is a lot like sausage. I like to have some every now and then, but don’t really care to see it made. Did I just say that?
Who anchored the prostitution special last year? Was that M. Lee too? Or was that M. “wow!” Francis? For the record, Bozeman, I did not watch that.

  39. Posted by guest | June 19, 2009 at 1:36 PM

US TV for a porn expose is like trying to get your rocks off by watching a woman’s dress drying on a clothes line.
    Try Holland or France, bitches.

The top 3 biggest players in porn are not Vivid, Internet or netflix
    They are:
    Marriott
    Starwood
    Hughes Dish
The private company behind the hotel porn also notes the average view time is 2:34 min’s.

    @47/49
Despite the 2x post (which I’ll forgive, this time), I’d have to agree. Between that and the perfect BJ eyes, she’s definitely doing the “Oh let me try to show the audience how this thing goes down”

  54. Posted by guest | June 19, 2009 at 8:22 PM

    @45
blakemason dot com – second best, plus the chaps look like City analysts which is a major turn on by itself
