Madoff Gets 150 Years

berniesiren.gifberniesiren.gifberniesiren.gifberniesiren.gifberniesiren.gifberniesiren.gifberniesiren.gif
Apparently Judge Denny Chin was most sickened by a letter from an investor who wrote that after her husband died Bernie put his arms around her and said “your money’s safe with me.” Under/over on how long before CNBC labels the verdict a green shoot?

    What time is Ruthie’s press conference and her announcement that she’s suing for divorce?
    Which of our Dealbreaker luminaries is going to step up and offer her a place to stay now that she’s on the rebound?

  19. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 11:45 AM

    @17, relax. You’ve already been recognized at the most outraged with your previous posting (no need to keep re-sending). Your award is in the mail.

  31. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 11:52 AM

    Sorry. Old transcript. I’m a loser.

  32. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 11:52 AM

    He’ll meet new friends, be able to work on his canasta,have sign out privileges at the jailbird library, and offer free financial planning advice to any and all early parolees.He could get buff, watch lots of Matlock reruns, and make his own shiv in machine shop.
    In all, not a bad life….

  33. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 11:53 AM

    All this does is guarantee his lifestyle (as shitty as it will probably be) will be funded by his victims (and others) taxes. What would it matter if he got 150 or 500 years. Frankly, it could have been funny to give him his own show (with proceeds going to the victims) where has to do shitty jobs all day. That would be a truer form of justice.

  34. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 11:57 AM

    @35
    Make him work till death as Head of SEC/Finra with mandatory performance measures/goals to hit

  37. Posted by FUNdamental | June 29, 2009 at 11:59 AM

    Why not just execute him? 150 years is the same thing.
    Also we could sell tv ad time and tshirts for the execution to raise money for the victims!

  38. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 12:01 PM

    @37 haha, so true!

  39. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 12:01 PM

    this poor “depths of hell” bastard confirms that Bernie was running his con at the Alzheimer’s ward.

  41. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 12:13 PM

    “Why not just execute him? 150 years is the same thing. ”
    actually, it’s not. he should have to suffer.

    In related news, Ruthie and the juniors have started a new venture, Mr. Nice Guy, in which they deliver fine herb to consumers. They hope to raise enough to bail sweet Bernie’s virgin ass out of prison.
    “God…if you listenin’…heellllp!”

  47. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 12:22 PM

    OK, seven flashies. Can you add a klaxon/siren for something really important? I like the Euro sound if it’s especially dreadful.

  51. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 12:42 PM

    Why did that letter upset the Judge? The widow’s money was safe with me. Safe in my fucking pocket.
    Bernie

  52. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 12:44 PM

    @52 here, having gone back on some of the earlier madoff comments today i take back the “probably the best comment” evaluation, no offence to @36. today has really brought out the awesomeness in comments here.

  53. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 12:47 PM

    They are saying the judge’s statement is phenomenal. Anyone know where to find it?

  54. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 12:49 PM

    @55 – I’m sure @30 can provide the transcript in a few weeks

  55. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 12:54 PM

  59. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 1:26 PM

    @48 They didn’t know that the horse was a diabetic!

  60. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 1:26 PM

    OK, I’ll go. Definitely worth it. 40 years of the high life. Two-three years in a Martha Stewart-like facility at the end. No nursing home bills. Yes! America, a great country or what?

  61. Posted by HeadlessHorseman | June 29, 2009 at 1:40 PM

    I’m with @35…could be like a special edition of that “Dirty Jobs” show on the Discovery channel.
    So long as Bernie bunks with a few Hell’s Angels types that are serving consecutive life sentences (preferably in an unsupervised sound proof cell) at the conclusion of each day’s filming, I’m all for forcing him to earn some scrilla scratch paper for his victims.

  62. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 2:00 PM

    @61: Excellent “Half Baked” reference

  63. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 2:05 PM

    @63 and let him occassionally watch footage of himself when he was wealth, pumping in scents of good food from time to time (kind of like re-applying the band-aid just to rip it right off again)

  64. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 2:11 PM

    Now throw Bernanke and the other Fed governors behind bars too and we can rid our financial system of all this scum.

    What type of prison? I can’t seem to find it. Minimum, maximum, federal? He’s 71; don’t they generally put people at that age in a certain type of jail?

  71. Posted by guest | June 29, 2009 at 2:56 PM

    @72 – if you are referring to Office Space, it’s “federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison”
    If you’re going to quote, at least get it right. There’s a great service called Google that will help.
