Lady MacMadoff is out with a statement of apology, having broken her silence on account of the fact that, weirdly, people have interpreted it as "indifference" or "a lack of sympathy." That could not be further from the truth! She cares, she cares deeply! Also something that could not be further from the truth is the suspicion she's suddenly full of sorry's after it's become apparent there's a chance she might get in some trubs for a possible role in the whole scam. Or the matter of no one wanting to rent her an apartment and the fact that girlfriend needing a place to stay a-sap. And a good dye-job. And some flowers. And some friends. And some accomplices to come with when she eggs sons Andy and Mark's houses. None of these needs are the reason she's opening up. None of them!
Getting down to brass tacks, Ruth's had two thoughts since the guy who ruined her life confessed: first, that a bunch of people would be negatively affected and second, that the life she'd known with her husband for 50 years was "over." Boom. Roasted. Anyway, Bernie? Fuck that guy. Really. Still really can't even believe how badly he screwed me err-- I mean us. We're in this together, people. I think I've made a pretty good start ingratiating myself to you with this letter but I realize you'll probably want more so please use this as a forum to let me know how I can help. Would some dish on Little Bernie, and his shortcomings help?
I am breaking my silence now, because my reluctance to speak has been interpreted as indifference or lack of sympathy for the victims of my husband Bernie's crime, which is exactly the opposite of the truth. From the moment I learned from my husband that he had committed an enormous fraud, I have had two thoughts -- first, that so many people who trusted him would be ruined financially and emotionally, and second, that my life with the man I have known for over 50 years was over. Many of my husband's investors were my close friends and family. And in the days since December, I have read, with immense pain, the wrenching stories of people whose life savings have evaporated because of his crime.
My husband was the one we (and I include myself) respected and trusted with our lives and our livelihoods, often for many, many years, and who was respected in the securities industry as well. Then there is the other man who stunned us all with his confession and is responsible for this terrible situation in which so many now find themselves.Lives have been upended and futures have been taken away. All those touched by this fraud feel betrayed; disbelieving the nightmare they woke to. I am embarrassed and ashamed. Like everyone else, I feel betrayed and confused. The man who committed this horrible fraud is not the man whom I have known for all these years.
In the end, to say that I feel devastated for the many whom my husband has destroyed is truly inadequate. Nothing I can say seems sufficient regarding the daily suffering that all those innocent people are enduring because of my husband. But if it matters to them at all, please know that not a day goes by when I don't ache over the stories that I have heard and read.

If Bernie could get his sentence commuted for giving up Ruth, he would. And maybe he should.

@5 of course he would and probably will, that's why she's getting nervous, hence the public apology.
Posted by guest , Jun 29, 2009 1:15PM
Nobody saw anything? Nobody knew anything? Everyone but Bernie is innocent? The investors asked no questions? The SEC asked no questions?
Next fairy tale.

Shut the fuck up bitch. You got 50 years of living the life of luxury and a settlement which offers you a nice annual payout. And we are to believe you didn't know anything? Bullshit. There's a warm spot in hell waiting for you.

Charlie on Bernie - CMBC
Posted by guest , Jun 29, 2009 1:39PM
Charlie Gasparino: [enthusiastically] So! You know, I spoke to our mutual friend. [Bernie, concerning the size of his penis]
Ruth Madoff: Did you say hello for me?
Charlie Gasparino: I did, I did. I did say hello, and... I couldn't help but mention the... whole kind of...”small penis" thing... It came out.
Ruth Madoff: Oh, my gosh... Was he upset?
Charlie Gasparino: Not at all! Not at all...
Ruth Madoff: Really?
Charlie Gasparino: In fact he had a... completely different take on it than you! He said the problem didn't lie with his small penis... but rather, with your... BIG vagina.
[smugly, he makes a wide 'V' symbol with his hands]
Ruth Madoff: Is THAT what he did?
Charlie Gasparino: Yeah!
[makes V sign again]
Ruth Madoff: THIS is my vagina?
Charlie Gasparino: HUGE!
[nodding smuggly]
Charlie Gasparino: Huge!
Ruth Madoff: Are you kidding? I don't have a big vagina!
Charlie Gasparino: [grinning smugly with condescending eyes] You've got the huge vagina.
Ruth Madoff: Oh, do I?
Charlie Gasparino: [nodding] You got the huge vagina. You're blaming the small penis... It's not necessary.
Ruth Madoff: I made a little... You're the one that-!
Charlie Gasparino: [cutting Lisa off] ME THINKS the lady doth protest too much! Hmph!
[making the sign]

If she was really that sorry, she wouldn't have taken that 2.5 million of fraud money in her settlement. Notice how she doesn't really condemn Bernie in more stronger terms cloaking her words with 'this is not the man I knew' BS. I say she's guilty!. I'll fuck her in the ass, not because she likes it. To tell you the truth, even I wouldn't like it..but I'll do it for the team.

she's embarrassed and ashamed about the time she agreed to a2m.

Charlie wanted to know if he started out with good intention and then when he failed he went the ponzi road or if he went the ponzi road from the getgo. To Charlie it makes a diference.

Ruth gets to keep $2.5 million which approximates about what was left to her in father's will plus some interest.
Did Ruth lie about the the source of the $62 million in cash and munis when she claimed it was given to her by her father?
Or was that a ploy to give her enough time to pay her and Bernie's legal bills?
Posted by guest , Jun 29, 2009 2:03PM
@20 No. I watch CNBC at the gym and am still recovering from the 6am greeting I recieved from her. First time I got a hard on on the eliptical

Having run out of other excuses, La Belle Dame Madoff is now "deeply concerned." That may earn her purgatory, not Hell, if she's Catholic. Otherwise, it's time for the grubs to feed on her carcass. She is shameless and does not deserve to be saved.
Posted by guest , Jun 29, 2009 2:08PM
I think Ruth could make a lot of money doing porn.
Posted by guest , Jun 29, 2009 2:11PM
Still don't understand why "the victims" didn't think that maybe their friends and co workers were making a lot less on their investments and savings and maybe they should ask how come they were making at least double on their investment?

Where's the outrage over the early investors and the commissions paid to the managers of the feeder funds? That's where most of the lost $62 billioin wound up. Not with Bern and Ruth.
Posted by guest , Jun 29, 2009 2:31PM
Will the "son of sam law" affect her?
I'd assume she could fetch 7 figures off a book deal.
Posted by guest , Jun 29, 2009 2:36PM
My Thoughts- she looks like Phil Spector with his makeup off. She didnt deserve the Queen status she enjoyed for all those years. I bet her help wanted to strangle her- she looks the type that would torture someone if the napkins were out of alignment.
She is an actress which is how she and bernie sucked in all the friends for so many years. I believe nothing she says. I think she should do hard time along with her sons. It would be good character building for the entire family.

Some murderers don't get that kind of jail time. Where are the priorities of this country? Maybe that should be the discussion we are having? Is someone's savings more important than someone's life?

So these Victims, as you call them, gave Bernie (me) their $$ to live on and do with as I pleased - and I did! Most of them made their original investment back over the years - don't cry for them. In my opinion, Catholic priest pedophiles commit bigger crimes than this every day and get away with it.
Posted by guest , Jun 29, 2009 4:01PM
@41 bravo
Posted by guest , Jun 29, 2009 5:00PM
41 Fair enough: don't cry for the ones that made back their original investment. Nor the ones that made that back and more. But how about the ones that didn't?

In a separate statement, Ruth Madoff revealed that she was shocked and dismayed to discover that Santa Clause was nothing but an invention, and that it was not a flying old man on a slay led by raindeer that got her that 5 carat diamond ring last year but her husband.
Posted by guest , Jun 29, 2009 6:09PM
Who is Santa Clause? Is he Santa Claus's neighbor?

"HE'S NOT THE MAN I KNEW ALL THESE YEARS." what a strange comment.
he IS EXACTLY THE MAN she knew all these years, it just so happens the man she knew all these years was a master criminal, liar and a sociopath.
what she should have said is that bernie betrayed her too, and that she has been living a lie, that she too is losing everything.
this comment is also telling:
"there is the other man [...] who is responsible for this terrible situation IN WHICH SO MANY NOW FIND THEMSELVES."
notice she does not seem to include herself in this language. is she not a victim as well? is she not at risk of losing everything?
I say she was in on it.
