UBS apparently sent out a memo last Friday eliminating the majority of its trash cans. Previously, they had mini-wastebaskets at each desk and now only one can per floor. And speaking of cans– an unhappy employee notes the Swiss have “downgraded to single ply TP.”

In similar and related news…Obama is planning another $300,000 date with his wife.
    oh the hypocracy…

@6- it’s in no way related or similar, and the word you’re looking for is “hypocrisy.”

@4 – Way to demotivate employees. I’m reading Collins’ “How the Mighty Fall”. He hasn’t mentioned it yet but I’m pretty sure he’ll get to unclean restrooms being a sign a corporation is doomed.

So, let me understand the logic behind this: It’s more cost to have employees get up and walk down the hall to the communal waste basket each time they need to toss something rather than have the cleaning service empty out individual “mini-wastebaskets”?
Hmmm, yeah, that’s starting to make sense. They should also shut down the restrooms and have employees bring their own bedpans, to be dumped in a communal shit pile. Those Swiss are uber efficient.

    PE Quant@#10…
You must not be a sailor.
On a racing yacht, “Rail Meat” is the term given to idle crew members who sit on the windward side of the boat (with their legs hanging over the side) on a steady, upwind, close-hauled tack. Their added weight (ballast) keeps the boat from heeling over too much in heavier air (wind).
Helmsman, tactician, navigator, and sail trimmers are all active at that time, but “rail meat” sit still on the rail.

UBS is a great company and I am really sorry I don’t work there anymore.

My guess is that they need the extra waste baskets to hold all the shit they still have remaining on their books that the Swiss Central Bank hasn’t taken yet.

I was canned from Citi in Jan, when I left they were removing plants from offices so they wouldn’t have to pay the guy to water them.
