In response to this morning’s report that Rick/Richard Stahl, one of two former Madoff traders suing Bernie’s sons Andy and Mark for $1.34 million in deferred compensation, and the description of Stahl as “a real hot head who always tried to physically intimidate people in the work place,” another ex-employee writes:

This couldn’t be further from the truth. I was a Madoff trader who traded alongside Rick for 3 years. He never, ever, used his size (which isn’t that big to begin with) to threaten anybody. Rick was/is a great trader and was both well respected and well liked on the trading floor.

I unfortunately worked at Madoff for a breif time. The place was the worst. They were the Bad News Bears of trading desks. It looked like no other trading floor on Wall St. There were more women Traders than Men, and outside of Rick and a couple others, most were scared to trade. Rick never pandered to Andy and Mark on the rare occassions either one of them was at the office. “Appollo Reed,” on the otherhand was more like Peter McNealy.

Wondering why its supposedly OK to post this guy’s resume and cover letter. The unwritten rule as I understand it is that only “public” people are fair game. How does he qualify? The guy’s trying to make a go of it – like we all are. Why should his resume be fair game, esp considering that probably 70% of you have less to offer?
