Specifically Janet Tavakoli, who thinks that Chaz has been going easy on Goldman Sachs, even after Lloyd Blankfein called him a thug and Lucas Van Praag told the FT he was a blow-hard. Some people think CG might be suddenly treating GS with kid gloves ever since the bank deigned to speak with him, though it’s just as likely the insults and name-calling could’ve done the trick. We’ve yet to hear what CG thinks of all this, but assuming he takes issue with it, and fast-forwarding through the rebuttal (“This woman isn’t fit to slice my deli meat”) any idea who these two could bury the hatch? Wow, CG just got slapped around. He is probably walking around his office in his wife beater in a rage.

Tavakoli Structured Finance, Inc? Sounds like Janet found herself among the unemployed, incorporated using mylawyer.com and is now purporting to be an expert. Handy that her last name is exotic enough to be out of the public domain otherwise she would have to be JT Structured Finance, which would risk a lawsuit from Justin Timberlake. Why do we care what she thinks?

@7, apparently CNBC does since she has been on there a bunch of times. It is true that CG has claimed to have broken every significant story, guy is a hack

I’m no CG fan, but how was he going easy on gs?

  13. Posted by guest | July 22, 2009 at 10:45 AM

She has written decent editorials on structured credit since 2007 in FT.

No way Charlie G, the tough guy from Queens, takes this lying down. Charlie don’t take no shit from nobody, especially some broad that nobody ever heard of, telling Charlie he’s just a stupid blowhard. Who the hell does she think she is??? Charlie the G is a broadcasting and journalistic legend.
I hope Charlie prepares a forceful response to these outrageous, unfounded allegations. I’m hoping he relates this episode to his violent neighbors when he was growing up in the outer burbs, or to his welder dad who almost broke his leg, or to his too-soon aborted amateur boxing days.

When I was a boy back in Queens, my neighbor once told me, “Charlie, never, ever, under any circumstances hit a woman…unless she forgets her place. Capeesh?”
Ms. Tavakoli needs her memory jogged.

@7 Completely agree. Not to defend CG, but this piece is purely for publicity. My guess is she lost her many marketing jobs because she is now old and ugly.
You have to be skeptical of anyone who’s bio includes predicting the crisis, save for those select few who have a fund with a track record or a wall full of vaginas. And yes, I’m talking to you Greg.

Chaz should titty fuck some sense into this puttana. When she asks, “Well how will that feel good for me?”
Our boy would answer, “Well, baby…when I’m about to dump my load…I’ll stop punching you in the face?”

@17 Disturbing. You need a session with Dr.Phil.

Janet’s writing is atrocious. I’ve seen better rhetoric from a 7th grade gym teacher.

From Janet’s website, this is a “credential” she brags about:
“She wrote the first letter the SEC posted in February 2007 in response to its proposed rules for the credit rating agencies”
In other words, First! This person makes Keith Strycula look competent and succesful.

its funny that she says CNBC is financial entertainment considering her website has many cnbc videos!

The only place I’ve heard about Janet is in a conspiracy theorist infested blog. Anybody else had heard about her before this past week?

  25. Posted by guest | July 22, 2009 at 9:37 PM

    @24
OK, I see where Janet comes from. I bet EP gave Janet some material to get her on ZH, or Zero Intelligence as the gasbag said today on-air. Everybody likes free publicity.

Does anyone know if Tavakoli has real clients? I can’t imagine any company letting her “inside”; she seems a powder keg of hate and criticism. I have seen or heard her fumble questions that ask what she would do. On one show that pointed out that she had no constructive ideas, she only was focused on busting balls or whatever the female equivalent is. I can’t see her adding any value to an organization. She seems to have hitched her wagon to Warren Buffett and Jim Rogers to promote herself. She acts like they are peers. She is colorful but nutty.
