TBP-2.jpgIn the words of TBP himself, the little driveway incident wasn’t so much theft as a rescue mission.

I was disappointed at the state of disrepair my grandmother’s house had fallen into, with broken windows, overgrown yard and a deteriorating condition…. I was sad, and felt a desire to protect what cherished memories I could, most notably the cement that I etched my name into the sidewalk as a youth….I knew it was city property and, in hindsight, regret that I did not work with the appropriate city officials to seek their permission

But TBP offered up a lot more than just a heart felt apology to the current owner of grandma Pickens’ place.

If it helps, I’m more than willing to return to Holdenville and etch my name in new cement, if they deem it appropriate

If not, then they’ll just have to worry about waking up in the middle of the night and discovering their house is cruising at 35mph on a trailer headed towards the Texas Panhandle.

That’s the oil bidness coming out in him now. One of the mantras in oil marketing and trading (except at Goldman Sachs) is, “It’s better to do it now and ask forgiveness later than to ask permission in advance.”

    MEMO
    To: City Staff and Workers
    From: Mayor Pickford “Pick” Blister
Subj: Property with T. Boone Pickens Name On It
    ——————-
As the result of recent events in our half-sister city, Holdenville, OK, it has come to my attention that anything with the name “Boone Pickens” etched, scratched, gouged, dug into, carved, whittled, painted, sprayed, enameled or via any other such means as to become long-lasting and/or permanent could be at risk of being allegedly purloined, stole, swiped, ripped off, five -finger discounted, late night delivered and such.
I want all city staff in the course of thir normal business to check all gas stations’ mens’ rooms prophylactic dispensers for any aged name scratching like “TBP” or “Boone”. Also, please check the initials on the watertower that appear to be decades old for such initials or name. Use your imagination for places to check. While it is doubtful Pickens ‘ name etched into/onto something in our fair city I want to leave no stone unturned and avoid any angry property owners.

I like the closing comment but that does not mean I like Greg.
Greg, do not confuse my kindness for weakness. Step up the game every post. Do it for Nails.

Alright, that does it. I am sick and tired of everyone telling me I’m confused. I wasn’t confused until other people started telling me I was. You know what I think? I think maybe you’re the ones who are confused. I’m not going to be confused anymore just because you say I should be. My name is Greg, I’m twenty eight years old, I’m blood type O, and I’m bi-curious. And maybe that’s OK, because if I’m bi-curious and im somehow made from God, then I figure God must be a little bi-curious himself!

Interesting that T.Boone thought the road with the part of his etched name was anyone’s for the taking. It is/was a public street. “Public” means more than one person.
I was hoping he’d take the high road and say, “No one told me I couldn’t take it……” but he relied on the “OK, I did it so what?” strategy.
Does that make you want to invest w/T. Boone?

I suppose Mr. Pickens contacted the owner of the home in question to complain about the condition of the property he chose not to own?

  27. Posted by guest | July 22, 2009 at 3:58 PM

I donate money to my city. Does that mean I can swipe some of it’s property?

this guy that said he put 50k into grandma’s house is a pitiful liar – what a bunch of bs !

Whether Boone Pickens is raiding a slab of concrete or a family trust estate in Texas he is still using strong arm tactics to get and take what he wants. He has been quoted “don’t stop until you hear glass break”.
The land in question is a family trust that was illegally appropriated with the help of Bankers, lawyers and a title company (Alamo Title) by insuring around a legal lis pendens. Additionally the attorney for the estate with the aide of his CPA falsely filed a fraudulent document that eliminated a 50% beneficiary from the trust to the IRS in order to pay off an IRS tax lien to accomodate the sale to Boone Pickens. It’s time to get the truth out about every thing.
