We ask not because we're woman-haters but because we legitimately would like to know (DB field trip? Yes, please). When Feds seized her penthouse last Thursday Ponzi girl took off with just one bag, headed for an "undisclosed location." She's yet to convince someone to rent her an apartment so for now Ruthskie is presumably relying on the kindness of strangers, on account of the fact that her sons, currently summering on Nantucket, refuse to take her in, despite having the space. She had to surrender her passport while Bernie was under house arrest but I think she got that one back, and could be anywhere. Let's get real for two and figure out where. Shacking up with Richard Cohen, who's been begging for it? Counting cards in AC? Negotiating a contract to appear alongside Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew in a new season of Loveline, which she would be fabulous for?

Who cares! I realize it's a slow week and people are taking 4-day weekends (bastards) but I'm kinda over stories about Ruth Madoff already.

The striped suit is a good start, but she'll need a cane, some glasses, and a red hat if she has any aspirations toward being a real-live Where's Waldo.

@4 no one gives a shit what you are or aren't over.
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 11:22AM
Punch yourself in the face @4, I am at work and I care about things.
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 11:22AM
@4 Mark stop with the PR
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 11:23AM
She's probably being driven in an orange and white taxi to a different hovel every night and growing a beard.
Posted by MoneyBoss , Jul 06, 2009 11:23AM
I heard a rumor she's trying out for next season's "The Cougar".

At sons Townnhouse or Penthouse down the street for 1-3 mos....tops.
ps, Both sons are effectively bankrupt as they owe the lquidator $30 Million in "Daddy loans" which they dont have....
Their wives/gf are getting $0.

@15 mark and andy haven't spoken to her since december, so not likely.

Putting @14's comment in the dock FTW!

15 Re the sons. They both own some really nice real estate: Greenwich, Nantucket, which is going to go a long way towards repaying the $30M. I agree with you though - after subtracting liabilities from assets, they're broke.
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 12:04PM
15 What tools. They made good money, from the supposedly legit side of the business. The liquidator isn't going after that, only the loan from dad. The repayment of which is going to effectively wipe them out. Given that they're not employable, its going to be a long hard life. Ruth, in contrast, will basically be living like an upper middle class retiree. Like the millionaire next door - a six figure nest egg that will support a $100,000 per annum life style.
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 12:18PM
@22: Her $2.5 mil is not free from civil lawsuits. She'll spend 6 figures, easily, on lawyers alone.
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 12:19PM
23 Civil lawsuits? On what grounds?
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 12:22PM
@24: The bar for civil penalties is lower than criminal - they don't have to prove she knew about the crime, just that she benefitted from it, and that her $2.5 mil is ill-gotten gains.

Unconfirmed spotting on Nobadeer Saturday.
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 12:37PM
25 Except that the $2.5 million amount was established on the basis of what she inherited from her parents. For Ruth, its case closed.
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 12:50PM
@27: people will still sue her and she will still be hiring lawyers until the cows come home, and they don't work free.
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 1:01PM
I thought she was going to visit Steve McNair and his new girlfriend down in Nashville.
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 1:15PM
I think her sons are treating her terribly. End of story.
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 2:04PM
Where would you go?
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 2:57PM
there has been a full j-bird invasion of nantucket for about the last ten years. also, you have folks with the last names of mccarthy or o'bannon naming their kids whitney or alexis and total guidos naming their kids brookie and trip. most of these folks are from jersey since people from boston generally know their place and if they are not wasps they do not even try. the whole island is a mess but the j-birds are the worst. also, all the jamaican and eastern european gangsters that live out there are running drugs (the quality sucks). nantucket (like the rest of of the usa) was a pleasant place when it was run by wasps. by the way, have they let the j-birds into sankaty head or the yacht club?? i doubt it. wasps are still out there but mainly have to hide from all the riffraff. message to j-birds: head back to the hampsteins!

32 You must admit though, the food's gotten much better since the Jews and Italians arrived. One of the places even opened a branch in Manhattan, soon to become two branches (for the unwashed, Sfoglia - 92/Lex)
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 3:29PM
33 you my friend are the unwashed. wasps don't eat/drink at those places when they are on island. there is nothing wrong with picking up a few lobbies at the fish market and grilling at home. summer is NOT about white ferragamo loafers. guidos in cockroach stompers and loud vineyard vine clothing just screams da shore. we do whatever we can not to frequent those places. do they have takeout??
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 3:34PM
@32 We got it. You wrote the same fucking nutty comment on the other post. Relax alreay. You sound insecure. Not very WASPy.
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 3:44PM
34 Grill at home????? My grandmother used to do that down at Seaside Hts. No thanks. Those days are long gone.
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 3:48PM
@34: "lobbies"? Someone is trying awfully hard...
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 3:50PM
34 Unless your name is Folger, Macy, Coffin, Gardner or Starbuck, you're no more insider than me. (Google it if you don't understand). Re the VV shorts - yr just jealous that my thick Italian guy legs look so good in 'em.

what kind of sex advice do you think Ruth would give?
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 5:16PM
@41 - pay a stranger to sneak into your window late at night and give it to you hard. Claim you knew nothing about it and call it a rape. Just like her marriage.
Posted by guest , Jul 06, 2009 5:44PM
@41 Try doing it through a hole in the bedsheet?
