As Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, B-Frank has heard a lot of stuff this year that he’s likely found rude, objectionable, offensive, and flat out wrong. But at a recent town hall meeting, after some hyperbole on the state of the US economy, one woman ignited a fire in Barney not seen since the Mark Haines incident.

    Not a Barney Frank fan – but no disagreements with his approach here. The woman is a retard.

  22. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 4:59 PM

    I saw this earlier, but without the full context of what this idiot said to provoke the response.
    Thanks Greg.
    She is a LaRouchie and thank God most people have forgotten who Lyndon LaRouche even is or was. His theories are as confused as the labels on Dr. Bronner’s Soap. He has been a Trotskyite, space colonizer, homophobe anti AIDS victims campaigner and spent six years in prison for fraud. He is 87 years old and crazier than ever, and when she claimed to believe LaRouche Barney had her number.

    I want tits with my socialism and I get moobs? This ain’t Broadway, Barney.

  24. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 5:07 PM

    Greg,
    Thanks for the longer clip. While I don’t ever agree with playing the Godwin card you did show that she managed to bring up a fairly good point prior to becoming an internet nutjob.
    Now, can you find a clip where Barney was asked if he would move himself off of his current insurance plan onto the proposed plan?
    His response (paraphrased) “I would if I could but it’s not an option for us.”
    He was soundly booed and instead of explaining WHY it wasn’t an option he barked (again paraphrased) “is that what you call an intelligent debate?”
    So many soundbites, if chopped correctly, for that charlatan.

  26. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 5:15 PM

    @22
    Forgot about the Larouche statement, my bad.
    But she did bring up a good point, how do you whack Medicare funding completely in order to be able to start this new insurance fund?
    Don’t you need some winding down? Some transition time? Don’t you need to know what to do before you pass a f*cking 1,000+ page bill that doesn’t specify any of this? It’s a damn pageholder bill that they’ll fill in later after the votes are tallied and the public is no longer watching.
    But don’t worry, whatever Congress decides won’t affect them, or their dependents at all. Unfortunately.
    Politics at it’s finest.

    @28/29 uh, he didn’t avoid confrontation here. and this woman is a wingnut retard, much like yourself.

  31. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 6:17 PM

    @28 – You’re a moron.
    @26 – What’s this BS that she brought up a good point? Maybe you’re from the same planet as she is and actually understood what we humans consider utterly stupid.

  32. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 6:18 PM

    Is that one of Barmy Frank’s Village People friends there in the background with a yellow vest and police man’s cap?

  33. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 6:21 PM

    He acts like he’s speaking in Parliament.

  34. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 6:38 PM

    @30
    I agree she’s a wingnut, but there were other questions that he responded to in the same way.
    Granted, I wasn’t there and the written word makes it hard to interpret tone, but there seemed to be reasonable questions he responded to in the same way.
    Just sayin’

  35. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 6:48 PM

    @31 your a fucking homo, bend over bawnie wants to stick his greasy salami up your bunghole. then he will put it in your mouth, so you can lick the shit off it,u fucking douchebag!

    @35
    that was HOT! then what? more please…

  39. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 7:29 PM

    The point is that the only way for the health care plan to work is if they pull money out of medicare and stop funding some procedures. I actually think this is probably necessary as the US funds more extremely expensive procedures for people that are probably going to die in 2 weeks anyway than any other country in the world. But they need to come out and admit this is part of the plan and defend it, rather than claim it is not.

  40. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 7:32 PM

    fat fuck still did not answer her question

  41. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 8:00 PM

    30 percent real unemployment!!?? Really. And he was supposed to take this retard seriously???? She should probably go back and start actually reading newspapers, and books.

  42. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 8:35 PM

    @26
    Read my post thoroughly if you’re going to respond to it. What I said was:
    “But she did bring up a good point, how do you whack Medicare funding completely in order to be able to start this new insurance fund?
    Don’t you need some winding down? Some transition time? Don’t you need to know what to do before you pass a f*cking 1,000+ page bill that doesn’t specify any of this? It’s a damn pageholder bill that they’ll fill in later after the votes are tallied and the public is no longer watching.”
    I’m not a Republican, at least not a registered one, but the older I get the closer I am to becomming one.
    I’ve done outreach, I’ve done campaigns, I’ve done spin (all at a very low level).
    Something within the existing system must change, it really must.
    -tl:dr
    My volunteer experience? I just want to cry about it sometimes. Really. I got hit on, beyond hitting, and pressured to “be nice”,to these “donors” and “prospects” and “important to the campaign” gross outs.
    I was 23 years old and these 60+ year old fucks thought I was their whore for making their contribution.
    Except I had morals and I didn’t understand what was going on until much later.
    Completely disgusting.
    Ugh,
    I frickin’ hate politics, politicans, and their fundraisers.
    Cured me from idealism forever.
    It should be required that you serve on at least both political committees before you can vote.

  43. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 8:46 PM

    @40
    Who is fat fuck and what do you have against her?
    Perhaps you could point us all towards your outrage?
    There’s so much to be angry about, we might need some help. Not sayin’ that we’ll agree.

  44. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 8:54 PM

    @42
    If you believe the nonsense that Medicare is going to be whacked you must have believed that Social Security was going to be privatized by Bush. Really, give it a rest.
    Here the problem is not only the politicians, but the massive PR campaign that the insurance industry is conducting to preserve their profits. They are spending $1.4 million a day. That’s enough money to bring all sorts of crazies into a political fight.
    There’s nothing you can do about it except use some critical thinking. And if today you are covered by your employer’s insurance, there’s nothing you can do about it if the employer decides to eliminate it completely and you are left with no affordable alternative. That can be your fast track to bankruptcy in the future unless this crazy system is changed.

    EP, kudos, way to give it to Bawney. And BTW that haircut looks good on you.

    haha, nice 46

  48. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 10:19 PM

    you know guys, if you actually done your reading there are so many ways to cut this bloated healthcare cost without what the wing nuts called “killing the old people”..
    For example, tort reform, insuring the uninsured so that they don’t go to the emergency room for a cough medicine, or how about educating fat people that eating 4 big macs in one sitting is bankrupting our country, since my hard earned tax $$$ is going to pay for his/her knee procedure, triple bypass, diabetic medicines, 12 stents, and those tests that the poor Dr has to run, in case the fatso sue him/her for not doing that one expensive test.
    Btw, this circus has got to stop, we need to have a real dialog instead of these outrageous statements and no I’m not for this crazy “public plan” which will bankrupt our country as well as it won’t solve the problem.

  49. Posted by guest | August 19, 2009 at 10:26 PM

    This lady is probably some doctors wife who thinks her spending money is going to get pinched by health care reform.

  50. Posted by guest | August 20, 2009 at 1:37 AM

    I can’t believe the people here who could watch that clip, then take sides with the woman who compares Obama’s health plan to the Nazis and mock Barney Frank for being gay. I know you’re just trying to show how coolly removed and witty you are, but you’re really just pathetic.

  51. Posted by guest | August 20, 2009 at 8:32 AM

    @50 the point is not whether that woman is appropriate or not. no one is taking her side. the point is that what obama is pushing is dangerous and antithetical to the foundations of this economy and country.
    suck my crank.

  52. Posted by guest | August 20, 2009 at 9:22 AM

    @ anyone actually discussing politics seriously here.
    DB is not the place for reasonable discussion about political policy. Face it Bawney Fwank is a failboat and so is this lady. time to move on.

  53. Posted by guest | August 20, 2009 at 9:56 AM

    hey Barney under your party’s socialized medicine plan, you better hope the wait time to have a gerbil or hampster expulsion procedure is not longer than 4 months. (current wait time in Sweden for a colonoscopy)

  54. Posted by guest | August 20, 2009 at 4:59 PM

    What planet you ask? I’ll tell you what planet — it’s one you’re intimately familiar with . . . wait for it . . . Uranus.
