We’re not exactly sure what is going on in the Natural Resources IB Group at the House of Dimon, but apparently they’re dropping like flies. DB is hearing that a second intern in the group was worked into a state requiring hospitalization last weekend after experiencing “exhaustion and a migraine headache”.
Update I: We are told the primary reason for the trip to the hospital wasn’t so much mere exhaustion but the inability of the intern to stop violently throwing up.

Why are those MDs allowed to operate as long as they have if they are THAT god awful bad to their team?

  2. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 5:13 PM

I’m not sure what to say. But there should be a lot more interesting topics out there, like the Gasparino-Taibbi love fest.

    @3
These kids have a huge sense of entitlement, learned from their well-connected parents. Tough luck they have to work.

@5 How are they so smart?

  7. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 5:23 PM

The tone of these types of posts is all wrong. They should be derided as pikers, pussies, or pillow biters. Which one are you Greg?

  8. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 5:27 PM

    I’m old Greg!

  9. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 5:28 PM

    @4 Lenin would be proud.

  10. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 5:31 PM

Lenin here, @9, are you supervising Gen Y kids in Wall Street? How are they doing for you?

Good thing we’re in a recession… wonder how many would’ve actually died if they interned during the LBO boom

  13. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 5:36 PM

@3 – pretty sure they WON’T get offer – for not being able to “handle the banking lifestyle”

  14. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 5:37 PM

    SUNALB

  15. Posted by wcburrs87 | August 4, 2009 at 5:44 PM

@12 – about the same number that actually did die during the ‘LBO boom’, idiot.

  16. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 5:45 PM

I don’t think MDs are treating the team bad, get serious. How much face time is an intern getting with an MD anyway. Blame the Associates and VPs, and its a right of passage. Plus, the purpose of an itern is to help Associates and VPs leave work early. Everyone knows that. Just double check their work in the morning!!

  17. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 5:48 PM

In other news, famed ex-HF mgr Ron Insana “sold everything.” Deal with that, bears.

  18. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 5:53 PM

@15 – go back to doing my work intern.

  19. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 5:53 PM

@9, because he died of a sudden, massive seizure?

  20. Posted by wcburrs87 | August 4, 2009 at 6:04 PM

@18, I never stopped doing your ‘work’ intern.

  21. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 6:11 PM

Were tighty-whiteys and a bull involved?
    If not…yawn.
Keep moving, nothing to see here.

  22. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 6:13 PM

At Citi you just get a cold sore after about 72 hours…no big deal

  23. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 6:15 PM

    What would Chris T do?

  24. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 6:15 PM

At Citi you get more than that. You just can’t spend what you get. At least, not for anything more than a Big Mac.
Go on, ask an MD what their net worth is today. They will put it in terms of gallons of regular unleaded or the #5 value meal at any fast food restaurant.

  25. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 6:40 PM

exhaustion and a headache?! you pussy!

  26. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 7:17 PM

“inability of the intern to stop violently throwing up” – i hope this is not going on his/her final review

  29. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 10:31 PM

Was this the cause of a Jay Horine pitch? Better not complain in an upward survey b/c he’ll find out and have you fired (as he’s done before)

  30. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 11:27 PM

    Horine is a cancer

  31. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 11:29 PM

    @ 30 – a terminal cancer

  32. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 11:37 PM

    WHO FUCKING CARES

  33. Posted by guest | August 5, 2009 at 3:08 AM

    pussies….

  34. Posted by guest | August 5, 2009 at 9:01 AM

How do you know these interns aren’t going out and getting plastered after work…it wouldn’t be the first time an intern drank too much and then got sick at work….just saying!

  35. Posted by guest | August 5, 2009 at 9:09 AM

    Back in my day….
Interns were expected to NEVER leave the office all summer. 2 monthes, 7 days a week, 26 hours a day. We had to hand type on old non electric type writers all copies of deal books and used abaci for calculations.
Excel. Pfft. Excel is for wussies, try discounting 25 years of cashflows on a floating rate bond, on an abacus, with no PVIF tables to boot. You kids are a bunch of Nancies, thats what you are.
When we were vomiting uncontrollably they just attached a feed bag to our mouth and told us to empty it out ourselves when it got full.

  42. Posted by guest | August 5, 2009 at 2:32 PM

@38 – wife looks hammered there. less of a wine tasting and more the beginning of a bender?

  43. Posted by guest | August 5, 2009 at 3:08 PM

Yo, that isn’t the wife getting tipsy at the wine tasting; the wife got divorced off to greenwich a few years back. That broad is the girlfriend, which horine has been macking on since she was an analyst.

  44. Posted by guest | August 5, 2009 at 5:53 PM

@ 37 and 38, yes those two are the beavis and buttheads of jpm nr. i can smell the douchebaggery emanating from those pictures

  45. Posted by guest | August 8, 2009 at 12:09 AM

I once heard Jay Horine “joke” that the group should put shock collars on the analysts, so they get electrocuted if they leave their cube. That’s JPM NR for you…true story.
