When they’re not in need of rescue by the Brooklyn Bridge, some junior Barclettes are incensed that their employer has not followed the lead of other banks and raised their bases to $70k. Taking matters into their own hands, ambitious first year S&T analysts reportedly leveraged their recent time in training in NJ to market their unique skill sets and books of business to GS, JPM, and MS in search of a $10k raise.

if Greg and EP would procreate, the offspring would:
    a) be able to bore people to death just by looking at them
    b) suck the life out of NYC and turn it into the city of eternal hibernation
    c) be an emotional vampire that makes everyone that meets it lose the will to live

Greg please keep your posts to a sentence or two – that way it’s doesn’t feel like such a waste of time to read this crap.

@ 4 WTF? This post was pithy and lucid, and frankly I found it entertaining.

Has anyone seen my fleshlight? I can’t find my fleshlight. It was in my office on Friday. What the hell?

  7. Posted by guest | August 3, 2009 at 10:42 AM

Greg, I feel like you’re only about 25 yourself, and maybe that’s stretching it. Because no one over the age of 22 gives a crap about some rumor re first year “barclettes” being upset at their salary. In fact I’ve never cared less for a story in my entire life.

  8. Posted by dubs | August 3, 2009 at 10:51 AM

I actually thought this was pretty funny, would be better if it included a first year kid bitching about the pay.

  9. Posted by guest | August 3, 2009 at 10:57 AM

The story is solid, Greg don’t mind ’7′.

    @4
The post is two sentences. Learn to read. Your comment just proves to me that the Greg haters are the lower dredges of the DB commentariat.

    @ 7, you sound older than 52 with a shriveled pea-sack.

    @ 6 what is a fleshlight?

  13. Posted by guest | August 3, 2009 at 11:12 AM

    Greg,
    Thanks, awesome reportage as always.

  14. Posted by guest | August 3, 2009 at 11:20 AM

Unfounded rumor = I just made it up.

  15. Posted by guest | August 3, 2009 at 11:24 AM

My fleshlight is missing too. Is someone going around stealing these things? Because that would be disgusting, and kind of disturbing.

  16. Posted by guest | August 3, 2009 at 11:36 AM

    This just in:
Shocking revelations! People seeking more pay to do the same work!
    Details at 11!

  17. Posted by guest | August 3, 2009 at 12:39 PM

This is not a rumor. The 1st years are upset and shopping around. Eventhough if you ask me they make enough already…

  18. Posted by guest | August 3, 2009 at 1:35 PM

You guys are idiots. This is exactly the type of rumor that DB is supposed to cover.
Also, I am confident that Greg is just biding his time to post some more tittes like last week…

Hahahaha, Barcap analysts are so effin’ sub-par it’s not even funny — and it’s not surprising, considering that Lehman was the biggest joke on the street that only attracted the left-over candidates from the other banks.
If these kids couldn’t get into GS/JPM/MS the first time around, with a clean slate nonetheless, what could possibly make them believe that a bank such as GS will even take a second glance at them now that they’ve been branded with this tier-2 bank on their resume?

  21. Posted by guest | August 4, 2009 at 1:11 AM

Wooooow. this last comment was probably written by some idiot that couldnt land a wallstreet job if his life depended on it. Barcap is a bulge bracket firm dumb ass.

“Lehman was the biggest joke on the street”
