    This is why they need Amanda Drury stateside all the time. Instead of the breaking news banner, she rips off her top every time something this huge comes out.

    I plan on spending a quiet evening at home, stroking my collie’s long, flaxen hair. You see, when you know you’re good, you do not need the approbation of others.

    @21 good riddance sister.

    If someone counted the references to CNBC anchors on this site, both in the posts and the comments, they’d be surprised.
    Greg, I admire you for steering clear of this nonsense.

    Lehman 150!!! Yes we can.

  31. Posted by guest | September 15, 2009 at 11:50 AM

    @26
    We forgot this sight was supposed to be about serious journalism and into hard hitting pieces, just like CNBC is right? Was this the same CNBC that had 50 cent on? or the same CNBC that refuses to admit that Jim Cramer is nothing more than a percussion monkey who knows some ticker symbols.

  32. Posted by guest | September 15, 2009 at 11:50 AM

    Hasn’t the recession in Japan been over for almost two decades? They are way ahead of us.

  36. Posted by guest | September 15, 2009 at 12:29 PM

    I asked a serious question about Japan a short while ago. I want a serious answer, preferably from #26.

  37. Posted by guest | September 15, 2009 at 12:39 PM

    36: Serious answer? On a blog site?

  38. Posted by guest | September 15, 2009 at 1:00 PM

    “I’m really happy for you Ben, and I’m gonna let you finish, but CNBC had some of the best recession reporting of all time, some of the BEST RECESSION REPORTING OF ALL TIME!!! WE BREAK STORIES, AND CG BREAKS FACES!”

    We make good change for very while.

  40. Posted by guest | September 15, 2009 at 1:07 PM

    What confuses me is how everybody claims CNBC is irrelevant, they are clueless etc., but still the unfunny Gasparino and Kneale impersonations continue.
    -26
    P.S. I’m all for the Druries though

    @40/26
    You do realize that Greg started all of the Dennis Kneale non sense don’t you? Obviously it was DK’s reaction to his post but Greg has lots of posts regarding DK, Dick Bove, and of course we all know of Jeff Macke’s legendary love of Greg.

  45. Posted by pfluger | September 15, 2009 at 2:03 PM

    @36:
    I’ll give you an answer. But first, in your own voice, please say the following: “Now means now!”
    I just wanna check something before I answer your important question.

  46. Posted by pfluger | September 15, 2009 at 2:10 PM

    @40:
    Fuckin’ bullseye, Jack. I told ya, neva take dese fuckin’ bloggers seriously. Dey think its funny to mock what you call “irrelevant CNBC.”
    -CG
    BTW, I think the reason they mock it is because it’s irrelevant and sometimes relies on the Druries you like to look at…

    how about this ACORN thing? Why are Fox, Drudge the only news sites giving this much attention?

  51. Posted by guest | September 15, 2009 at 3:07 PM

    @50
    do try to keep up honey, check yesterday’s write off

  52. Posted by guest | September 15, 2009 at 3:10 PM

    only 14 comments there, poor showing. you can do better

  53. Posted by guest | September 15, 2009 at 3:12 PM

    @52 you can do better by checking write offs and trying to keep up before commenting again.

  54. Posted by guest | September 15, 2009 at 3:17 PM

    @52
    Lets think about this. Fox and Drudge = uber conservative. ACORN = uber liberal, so the coverage at Fox and Drudge might be a wee bit overdone. DB is neither of those extremes hence the “poor showing”.

    What? Lies-Man never told me he was married!

  56. Posted by guest | September 15, 2009 at 3:59 PM

    When Liesman was a kid instead of cowboys and indians he played Regulators and Bankers.

  57. Posted by guest | September 15, 2009 at 4:00 PM

    @55: Yes, Steve and I have been happily married for 14 years. The only rough patch was during the brief romantic interlude that I had with Mr. Santelli…
