kenlewis.jpgApparently he was not told security would see him out but is leaving on his own terms. No word on his plans for the future but something along these lines would make sense, with John Thain bussing tables.
Update: Andrew Cuomo has chimed in an attempt to ruin the happiest day of Ken Lewis’s life and say that the news of the resignation will not stop his investigation, in case you thought anyone was going to get off easy.

One day you people will all recognize my genius when Bank Of Amerrylwide takes over the Earth via buying GS out from under GoldenBalls. Until then, pour out a Boone’s for me when you go drinking.

Today, 9/30/09, will go down in history as one of my greatest. My “sources are impeccable.”
My neck is “crinked” from kicking ass all day on the phone, but it was worth it. No pain, no gain.

Here are the internal choices-Curl, Montag, Moynihan, Krawcheck and Price.
Of these, Curl and Price best choices, have deepest knowledge of all ofthe businesses, price is best with the Street. Moynihan was a disaster with CIBK, almost destroyed the franchise in the last 8 months but Gifford and Ryan will be pushing him!!! Krawcheck,- a disaster at Citi, not as smart as advertised, Montag-no knowledge of lending or consumer businesses. As a shareholder I hope it’s Price!!!

As a NC resident and a WB retiree, I can honestly say that Charlotte bankers are
    1. overpaid
    2. generally stupid
    3. a legend in their own mind
    4. all named Ken
