And by the transitive property, you're all Bernie Madoffs.*
Bernie is representative of the scheme of capitalism itself. [Capitalism] is a pyramid where the richest 1% have as much financial wealth as the combined 95%. It's a pyramid only a few people can be at the top of, and everyone else is made to believe that they can get to the top," he explains. "It's a bit of a ruse, and a ruse that's not unsimilar to Mr. Madoff's."
Bernie Madoff's prison a target venue for Michael Moore and 'Capitalism: A Love Story' [NYDN via NYM]
*Specific anatomical similarities will explored in Moore's next film, his first in a series of finance-related pornos. Still needs a title, though, so if you've got any ideas don't be shy.

Obesity related illness is the leading cause of death in the United States
Michael Moore is morbidly obese
therefore
Michael Moore needs to die

Great reasoning there tubby...
So "difficult to reach the top of" = "Using invested funds to repay prior investors"

1% + 95% doesn't quite compute to 100%.

call me uncultured, but I've never heard the word "unsimilar" used in a sentence. That said, Michael Moore should still kill himself.

somone introduce this fat moron to lake wobegone, while you're at it, social mobility, etc, etc, ah nevermind just someone pull a "Se7en" on his fatass and let's move on
Posted by pfluger , Sep 23, 2009 2:43PM
The bait is set. Lets see if the lunatic savant moron who starts screaming about bonuses and taxpayer money shows up, again.
I think its the big man, the huge man, MM himself.
Posted by guest , Sep 23, 2009 2:43PM
Is he implying that he's not a capitalist AND that he's not in the top 1%? What. A. Fucking. Assclown. He's got to be worth $25 million+, easy. I don't see him giving all his money away to charities and the needy and only keeping $50k/yr for himself.
Posted by guest , Sep 23, 2009 2:43PM
@Anal Which se7en do you pull, a pound of flesh for greed or death by spaghetti for gluttony

Bess, I ate the italics closing tag. Can you please close it again? I won't promise that i'll leave the next one alone.

I thought Michael Moore was the best James Bond. Much better than Sean Hannity in the early Bond films.

@9 MM took home north of 100m for Farenheight because he distributed it himself after disney pulled out. so he is well, well withing the top 1%

@12 even better than Darren Dalton?

@13:
I have researched MM's personal holdings. While his total net worth is in excess of $25mm, the bulk is in illiquid private equity ventures involving agricultural interests in the midwest.
He is a majority stake holder in several cattle and chicken farms, a hog farm, and several large meat processing facilities.
Posted by HeadlessHorseman , Sep 23, 2009 2:54PM
@11
Hilarious.
Posted by guest , Sep 23, 2009 2:56PM
I find it interesting that he rips capitalism considering that (as Bloomberg TV mentioned this morning) he demanded a $20MM upfront fee for "Sicko" as well as 50% of the gross. Perhaps I am alone in my thinking, but I doubt he gives all this money away.
Also, given that he is pro-labor, isn't it a little hypocritical of him to use non-union labor in the production of his films (again, mentioned on Bloomberg). Of course it helps him keep the costs of his films down!
Posted by guest , Sep 23, 2009 2:57PM
What a cock goblin. Of course he's laughing all the way to the bank, and we're the suckers making fat jokes on an internet blog.

I like Michael Moore more than most folks on this blog, but that being said, can't we put him and Glenn Beck in the same room together and watch them combust???

Way off topic -- but I've been gone for a while now. What ever happened to Equity Private? Is she lost forever?
Posted by FUNdamental , Sep 23, 2009 3:00PM
@anal - I'd rather expose him to somethig significantly more painful. I was thinking actual intellectual debate, where FACTS are required, any lies will be met with lit matches.
You know either that or no lunch.

Yes, true. But, at least we have our dignity! As MM knows, there are much more important things in life than money.

speaking of rough prison sex, i would bet the house that when Martha Stewart did time in the can, she has more than a few rough, but pleasurable encounters with her penmates. i bet she scissor's like a seamstress.

I'm just happy he finances his production costs by selling shade-grown, fair-trade coffee instead of having his studio call grubby banksters for a loan.
