Bloomberg reports that the 2001 Mercedes-Benz E320 previously owned by the king of the prison yard will be auctioned off October 23 along with a bunch of other vehicles seized by the U.S. Marshals Service. The suggested retail value is $13,727 to $19,530 and according to Tim Minoughan, the guy running this thing, the ride won’t go for much more than that, cause it’s not “a Bentley or a Rolls Royce or something really high valued.” Also? Because car itself isn’t really tainted by the scam which is what would up the re-sale value. Bernie wasn’t screwing investors in the back seat (I think we’re in post-Sheryl Weinstein years here), so really all you’re getting is the car Ruth used out in Montauk. Which leads us to the item you will want to throw down a significant portion of your bonus on:
There’s also a 2007 Coachmen Freelander recreational vehicle with 8,939 miles on the odometer that belonged to Samuel Israel [AS IN, IT WAS HIS GETAWAY CAR], founder of the Bayou Group LLC hedge fund, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for a $400 million fraud.

That's the same car Greg's mom uses to drop him off at the office every morning.

You the difference between the Madoff's Mercedes and a cactus? A cactus has its pricks on the outside of it. And they are bigger on the cactus than a certain driver's of the Mercedes.

Shaggin wagon's good, but I'm waiting to bid on the Fuck Truck (which rumor has it is a Baby Blue 1977 Ford Econoline, with custom curtains, Greg Brady-style beads and astroturf carpeting).

@7:
Wait a minute. A cactus doesn't have "pricks," it has spines, and they vary in length, shape and color.
There are two general types of cactus spines - centrals (which are usually hook-shaped) and radials, which are straight. The spines grow in clusters, known as "areoles," and their function is to prevent the cactus from being eaten by animals.
As far as the joke goes, the standard version makes the humerous comparision between a porcupine and the occupant of a BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, or other luxury auto.
I'm sure the Joke Briefer would have additional information.

The W210 E-class was probably one of the most sound Mercedes to be built in the last 10+ years. It's a tank, Bernie's wagon will easily surpass 300,000 on the odometer. I recon it will probably fetch approx. $10,000.
