Who Enjoyed Last Year’s Meltdown?

raising hands.jpgYou’d think most people out there wish last year’s crisis never happened. Given the loss of jobs and money, the last thing people would do is be thankful for 2008’s bounty. Countless books and even one fact-heavy cinematic masterpiece went out of their way to document just how much pain and suffering people have been through. But, when put to a vote, more people than you would think were pleased with the collective work of the institutions that inflicted pain on the global economy.

It seems the financial crisis isn’t all doom and gloom: one in four people are glad the world’s economy slumped like it did, because it helped them realize their priorities in life, according to a global survey.

“The psychology of global recession has changed the way many people do things,” Jenny Chang, Synovate’s managing director in Taiwan, said in a statement. “They are making life-altering decisions based on the current global recession, be it postponing marriage, having children, moving house, changing jobs or pursuing higher education.”

"But, when put to a vote, more people than you would think were pleased with the collective work of the institutions that inflicted pain on the global economy." - Greg Michaels

I defended you in TWO separate posts earlier today and this is how you thank me? Are you fucking high right now?

All I can think of is that your high school English teacher must have had a really twisted sense of humor.

If I were to describe your writing to someone who’s had the good fortune of having not read you, it would go something like this:

Greg Michael’s wholesale desecration of written language is comparable to the “Hostel” and “Saw” movies series in its enthusiastic embrace of all things grotesque. But lacking whatever little sense of artistic purpose exhibited by the movies’ antagonists, Greg Michaels ambles about like paranoid retard wielding dull axe at shadows. Be forewarned: reading him for prolonged periods of time is known to the state of California to induce catatonic stupors.

Last night I did an experiment. I went to 134th and Amsterdam and scored some H. I came home, I shot up and I felt indescribably amazing. Then, for my experiment I went on DealBreaker and read a few of Greg's posts. When I got to the 3rd story, I was sober and pissed off as a fucking homeless whore. I think we can all learn a lesson from this; drugs aren't bad for you, Greg is bad for you.

Easy, they're called Democrats.

@ 4 is a complete and utter pile of waste to post something like that. I agree, block that scumbag. What's right is right. Enough is enough

While I can't say I enjoyed the meltdown, I wonder if we'll ever see such cheap stocks again. Western Digital which I felt a steal at $20 was going for $10! Harry Winston Diamonds I valued at $5 was selling for $1!

Even venerable GE a good deal at $20 was selling for $6.

The weekened of March 1st I recall being mad that I didn't have a few million in loose cash. Blessed are those with dry powder

I dunno. I just don't see why people can't get jobs and stuff. Maybe they're not trying hard enough. They should find people who have similar interests. Like yachting. -- Alicia Wetmore.
