@anal_yst-- meaning what?
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 3:58PM
I worked on the other side of the deal from "bid 'em up Bruce". The guy was as much as showman as Trump, but not as flashy. He was no fun to be competing with, and no fun to work for, and he definitely wasn't getting his clients to pay wholesale (how could he be a Jew?) - but he was a real character, and most importantly - deals got done because of him, he made things happen. RIP Bruce.

Sucks for his beneficiaries. 10 more weeks and their is no estate tax on that $2.3 billion
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 3:59PM
You know, his sister Wendy died a couple of years ago at 55, and he adopted her daughter. That poor girl.
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:00PM
God bless you Bruce. You have shown us all that not all U of M grads are total douche bags.

Guest@#26...
Who is he, you ask?
Another f'n criminal thief who finally succumed to all the poison shit that accumulated in his rotten-assed, cadaverous body as he moved through life and fucked-over anyone whom he could exploit.
In short, he is now nobody. Fuck him and his.

@29 you're a piece of shit.
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:29PM
Bess -
I think TGFD may not have liked Bruce. What do you think?
Greg
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:29PM
TGFD @29 - He'll own you in hell, as well.
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:30PM
@29 speaking of nobodies...
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:30PM
Bruce Wasserstein and Captain Lou Albano die on the same day? Coincidence, or conspiracy?
--Robert M. Stack
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:31PM
the government is behind this.
-zh
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:32PM
@TGFD- All this time away and THIS is what you choose to post? Jesus. Aren't you roughly Bruce's age, anyway?
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:32PM
Who is Greg Michaels?
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:35PM
@36 probably, and likely extremely bitter that he didn't make 1/1000th of the money BW did.
Posted by Investorcluzo , Oct 14, 2009 4:36PM
TGFD was MIA/banned for many moons and then boom he drops this bomb. WTF man? have you no filter? anger management much? sheesh!
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:38PM
@39 he needs a rabies shot.
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:40PM
obviously not really TGFD
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:45PM
Bess could have let Greg have this post- headline, factual, informative, no real way to screw it up.
Then again, there probably would have been a picture of a foreclosed house.
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:47PM
I am the Lizard King!

TGFD was banned? News to me, great news. Now if only someone would get around to banning Greg...
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:51PM
Guests@#35,#36...
TGFD thinks that while Bruce was recovering in the hospital, someone from the gov't gave him an injection of potassium, after which Bruce promptly fucked-out. Maybe that other bastard from Lazzard, you know, the fat one...Maybe he'll follow shortly behind Bruce.
Bruce was born on Christmas Day, 1947. TGFD was born very, very close to Christmas Day in 1948.
That picture of Bruce on Wikipedia shows a tired, unactractive, old man. Nothing at all like TGFD.
TGFD stopped by for a quick visit, and I couldn't resist "WSJ: Bruce Wasserstein Is Dead".

Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:53PM
Bruce, RIP. Condolences to friends and family.
As for LAZ- who's next up to bat at 30 Rockefeller Plaza? Methinks there are a couple of former senior I-bank executives with unplanned time on there hands these days...
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 4:58PM
Could he take it with him or not?
Posted by Lowly Assistant , Oct 14, 2009 5:01PM
Muffie,
Condolences.

That's why the Gov't shot him up with potassium. They weren't going to let him survive the year.

@49
Felix is still around - and his column in the NYT this summer shows he is still in the game. Now that he isn't hanging in WY - bring him back.
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 5:07PM
Looks like a table at Daniel has opened up for Friday night.
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 5:09PM

Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 5:10PM

Posted by NakedShort , Oct 14, 2009 5:23PM
@lowly...holy shit where have you been?
Posted by Lowly Assistant , Oct 14, 2009 5:30PM
NS,
Hiding out as Jeff Macke, here and there.
Don't think I didn't note the Handbridge Capital fund these last few months. When are we getting the "receipt guy's" draft of your quarterly letter?
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 5:49PM
Is Lazard even a good shop any more?
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 7:45PM
I agree with TGFD, Wasserstein was a scumbag- ditching his wives and kids every few years to shack up with a new b!mbo (e.g. Lorinda Ash)
I'm sure the kids are appreciative of their inheritance but not the way their dad treated their moms like s___
Posted by guest , Oct 14, 2009 8:32PM
@41- It's without a doubt the real TGFD. I thought bans only lasted like a month though.

@53 what a comeback that would be. Felix coming back to run Lazard. Nuts. Its gotta be Gary Parr though... him or Greg Michaels.

The Board of Directors of Lazard has named Steven J. Golub, Vice Chairman of Lazard Ltd as interim
Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Golub, 63, has been with the firm since 1984, where
he has served in various senior leadership positions, including CFO and Chairman of Lazard’s Financial
Advisory business

I wonder if they are going to bury Wasserstein with all his treasure like an ancient Pharoah. Did he believe he could take it all with him? A 61 year old legendary moneyman kicks over suddenly, apparently after doing nothing all in life except work...An occasion perhaps for all the corporate lemming paper-pushers out there to consider for a moment if they aren't fast-tracking themselves to the same fate? Nope, who am I kidding.
Posted by guest , Oct 20, 2009 10:42AM
heard he managed to carry 100 million in used notes with him.
