    @anal_yst– meaning what?

  14. Posted by guest | October 14, 2009 at 3:58 PM

I worked on the other side of the deal from “bid ‘em up Bruce”. The guy was as much as showman as Trump, but not as flashy. He was no fun to be competing with, and no fun to work for, and he definitely wasn’t getting his clients to pay wholesale (how could he be a Jew?) – but he was a real character, and most importantly – deals got done because of him, he made things happen. RIP Bruce.

Sucks for his beneficiaries. 10 more weeks and their is no estate tax on that $2.3 billion

You know, his sister Wendy died a couple of years ago at 55, and he adopted her daughter. That poor girl.

Another f’n criminal thief who finally succumed to all the poison shit that accumulated in his rotten-assed, cadaverous body as he moved through life and fucked-over anyone whom he could exploit.
In short, he is now nobody. Fuck him and his.

    Who is Greg Michaels?

  38. Posted by guest | October 14, 2009 at 4:35 PM

@36 probably, and likely extremely bitter that he didn’t make 1/1000th of the money BW did.

  39. Posted by Investorcluzo | October 14, 2009 at 4:36 PM

TGFD was MIA/banned for many moons and then boom he drops this bomb. WTF man? have you no filter? anger management much? sheesh!

    obviously not really TGFD

  42. Posted by guest | October 14, 2009 at 4:45 PM

Bess could have let Greg have this post- headline, factual, informative, no real way to screw it up.
Then again, there probably would have been a picture of a foreclosed house.

Bruce, RIP. Condolences to friends and family.
As for LAZ- who’s next up to bat at 30 Rockefeller Plaza? Methinks there are a couple of former senior I-bank executives with unplanned time on there hands these days…

Felix is still around – and his column in the NYT this summer shows he is still in the game. Now that he isn’t hanging in WY – bring him back.

Don’t think I didn’t note the Handbridge Capital fund these last few months. When are we getting the “receipt guy’s” draft of your quarterly letter?

  58. Posted by guest | October 14, 2009 at 5:49 PM

Is Lazard even a good shop any more?

  59. Posted by guest | October 14, 2009 at 7:45 PM

I agree with TGFD, Wasserstein was a scumbag- ditching his wives and kids every few years to shack up with a new b!mbo (e.g. Lorinda Ash)
I’m sure the kids are appreciative of their inheritance but not the way their dad treated their moms like s___

  60. Posted by guest | October 14, 2009 at 8:32 PM

@41- It’s without a doubt the real TGFD. I thought bans only lasted like a month though.

@53 what a comeback that would be. Felix coming back to run Lazard. Nuts. Its gotta be Gary Parr though… him or Greg Michaels.

I wonder if they are going to bury Wasserstein with all his treasure like an ancient Pharoah. Did he believe he could take it all with him? A 61 year old legendary moneyman kicks over suddenly, apparently after doing nothing all in life except work…An occasion perhaps for all the corporate lemming paper-pushers out there to consider for a moment if they aren’t fast-tracking themselves to the same fate? Nope, who am I kidding.

  71. Posted by guest | October 20, 2009 at 10:42 AM

heard he managed to carry 100 million in used notes with him.
