    Medvedev just fired the General responsible for leading the sham case against Magnitsky, but it’s much too little too late.

    …I should clarify for the majority of DB leadership unfamiliar with how things are done in Russia that when I said “fired” I mean put on a fat pension and replaced with a carbon copy ingrate.
    It’s amazing how Western companies (especially in the energy sector) try to do business with Russia and consistently wind up raped, and yet they never learn.

    Man, that is some hardcore shit in Russia.

    Russia is not to be trifled with. You don’t industrialize from peasants in 30 years, absorb half the 3rd Reich’s troops and half their empire, and become the 2nd super power in history (within another 30 years after the original crash industrialization) to let some dickwad in a suit take it away from you because he has a f*cking M B A. F**********ck no.

    As your typical alcoholic Irishman I’ll fight anyone–my wife, my priest, the english, the scots, the americans, the huns, the krauts, the japs, the chinese, the indians. Whatever, odds are for pussies.
    The Russians, however, give me great, great pause.

    Fuck you, Russia.

    Mikhail Khodorkovsky once said in an interview, “We have to remember that under Peter the Great there were 24 million Russians and 300,000 of them died building St Petersburg… There were 2 million fewer Russians when Peter the Great died than there had been when he became tsar. We have developed quickly, and we have developed slowly, but in all this time, human life in Russia has not been worth even a kopek.”

    @5
    Unfortunately, we are a bunch of demented assholes and it will take generations to clean up mess in people’s heads there.
    That said, my deepest condolences to the family.

    Why the fuck wasn’t the dumbass media up in arms about Sergei Magnitsky, Hermitage’s lawyer?!
    Because they were too busy cheerleading the socialist Pelosi welfare, and reporting on celebrity news. Idiots. All of them.

    News of DiPascali’s role in those arrests will make him really popular in prison, right? Aren’t snitches somewhere just below whale shit in the prison lowerarchy?

    is that tribute posted elsewhere than Scribbed (i.e. in PDF like normal)?

    Bess – thanks for including the Hermitage tribute to Sergei Magnitsky. As usual, I didn’t see it anywhere else. Yet another reminder for investors not to put their money in a country where there is no rule of law. Sadly, Russia’s fate seems to be the exchange of one thug for another when it comes to their leadship.
