    What in the world is the title for a New Zealand knight anyway? Knight Commander of the Order of the Kiwi?

    Check out Buhl slamming the WSJ for what she thinks rubbish coverage. It's pretty one sided but I think she's right this time. Even the Reuters story yesterday pointed out this lawsuit wasn't about inside info but about a guy who got jacked in a bidding war and is a cry baby.
    I hope Falcone doesn't bend over and pay Nacco off.

  19. Posted by guest | December 30, 2009 at 6:45 PM

    WTF? I'm sorry "Teri", but some of us know the difference between tortious interference and breach of contract. I haven't even finished reading the fucking WSJ lashing, but a non-party to a contract CANNOT breach a contract. You stupid "journalist"; ask an attorney before using attorney words. Are they really letting that kind of stupidity onto ft-implode? Never reading that site again. Dumbass.

    I'm drunk off Malbec, reading EP's 3/06 posts.
    You fucktards are stooopid for throwing her under the bus. What a(n) (extra) talent we had on these fine pages. For shame, you pieces of shit.
    And don't give me this, "Oh, go to ZH for that conspiracy shit. BO called bottom. Et cetera. Etc." She filled Carney's spot with poise and fine analysis. The Bess & EP show will remain a fine time capsule, just as Lon, Tess, Brock & Muff (humor me), Keith & Liz provided the essence of what this place is all about.
    DB is the most fun & informative (a fine mix) blog out there, regarding all things financial.

    @Anal_yst. Any thoughts this morning?

  26. Posted by FUNdamental | December 31, 2009 at 5:03 AM

    @Trojan – great finish!!! But the line was Idaho -1, so much like the Americans in Korea or any soccer game ever, that's a draw.
    Revised record for Trojan 2-1-1

    @Lowly
    4:07am? Sh*t, even I was out by that time! EP is a fantastic writer, and probably a border-line genius, but I miss GP/FR, sans comments. While the DB comment threads often fill-up with useless, arbitrary nonsense, those on ZH are often militantly stupid, and absolutely unreadable.
    @ Trojan/FUN
    Either of you guys have spread on Nebraska, hope not…

  28. Posted by NY Trader | December 31, 2009 at 7:06 AM

    @19 I read the complaint at Dealbook- Count 1 of NACCO's filing says it is suing for breach of contract. So you either didn't read the compliant or maybe you are a Wall Street Journal reporter who can't admit to being beat on a story.
    Yes there is a charge of tortious interference which relates to the breach of contract. There is not an actual charge for inside info or material non public information as the WSJ led its reader to believe. Even Reuters pointed this out:
    http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE5BS2YB20091...
    The fraud charges they mention relate to how Harbinger filed its SEC forms listing it self as an investor and then changed to a bidder. An odd claim – how can changing your position in a company be fraud. Isn't that the nature of disstressed dealmaking?

    28 = teri buhl

  30. Posted by oldoiltrader | December 31, 2009 at 7:21 AM

    @11 That was balls out of Buhl and HF Implode to go after the WSJ like that. I love it – media brawl between to chic reporters.
    Bess – Thanks for bringing this story to our attention. It's unfortunate to see but some of our top hedge funds are easy targets these days. You can saw anything in a lawsuit. There isn't enough information yet in this case. If this thing really goes to trial then I'll get excited. A Falcone takedown would be a fun show but I doubt it's going to happen.
    Now let's get back to Stevie Cohen that's where the real insider trading is going down.

    "Julian Robertson named New Zealand’s first honorary knight……"
    First of all, I thought you had to be a male in order to become a "knight". Also, Julian's best performance was in "Pretty Woman" in my opinion.
    Anyone know why the markets are so quiet today?
