donaldtrump.jpgDonald Trump is dueling it up with activist investor Carl Icahn over Atlantic City’s Trump Entertainment Resorts. Specifically, the two are fighting for ownership of the property, which Trump does not currently own. Don’s argument is that the casinos “would be hurt if Icahn won because it would take the Trump name off them.”

And that would be a sad, sad thing and mostly a great loss for humanity, because the brand evokes classiness, good taste and overall refinement. So Trump will fight it. On AC’s boardwalk if it comes down to it. He’ll even call The Situation to back him up. Or maybe, they can just take it to Minetta Tavern. We heard that’s the place where gentlemen go to settle those kinds of things.

If The Donald’s argument is that removing his name from those rotting sh*tholes that are his casinos will decrease their value, the case should be thrown out immediately for being ridiculous prima facie, and the judge should laugh in his face, for at least a solid 5-10 minutes.

From the look on his face, I think it’s clear that The Donald needs to increase his daily fiber intake.

    Anal_yst,
Agreed. Trump’s angle has got to be that by appearing in a few “business stories” with the likes of Icahn, he’s hoping the general public will be more inclined to mistake him for a legitimate business person.
Donald Trump is the business world’s equivalent of Kim Kardashian; get fucked by (or pick a fight with) somebody famous…become a tabloid regular and media whore…use ensuing free publicity as a vehicle for shameless self-promotion…put your name on shit that’s marketed to “nigger-rich” idiots with even less class than the term I just invoked to describe them…profit.
I’m checking my motives, but you all know precisely the type of person to whom I refer (regardless of skin tone).

@5 – elitist, examine your motives

So, if Carl pulls this one out does he re-brand the casino “Trump Can’t, but Icahn”?

This guy has bankrupted himself more times than I can count. He should just get out of the business entirely, since he so clearly sucks at his job.
His name contributes nothing to shareholder value, and I’m fairly certain his shareholders are just waiting for this quack to remove himself from the gene pool.

@3 – Let me see if I have this right:
    1. You bought a Trump tie
    2. You paid $34 for it
    3. At Macy’s
    4. On Sale
    5. And you admit all this?
There is something very, very wrong with you. Please advise all of us as to all your long positions, ASAP.

@14 BFD I buy my ties at JCPennys

  16. Posted by The New Guy | February 24, 2010 at 11:31 AM

    @15
You misunderstand. I have no problem with Macy’s, or JCPenny, or anything else to save a buck. The point is that if someone, like@3, is dumb enough to buy something as ugly as a Trump tie, you have to be an extra-special-sucker to pay $34 for, especially when it’s on sale.
