The government’s going to stick its nose in Morgan’s bidness, not inform anyone at the bank about what it’s up to and then leak the investigation to the press? OH NO, THEY DI’INT. This was not how Dick Bové wanted to start her morning but, damn it, you bitches have forced her hand.

Obama is an activist socialist, just like he administration. They all drank the same cool aid. Capitalism and wealth are under attack in the US, Europe is his model. Tax, spend, give it away, and cower to the terrorists.

Bring Ronald Regan back. He brought respect to this country, fought the unions, increased democracy worlwide, stood up to tyranny. He knew how economies worked and how to reward hard work. For every additional dollar I make required increasing my effort incrementally, because after taxes I am actually left with less.

We will be f#cking Greece in another decade if the clowns in office have their way. Tax, spend, and get it away to their constituents.

If the Mountain States had any brains they would leave this Union before they get dragged down with the rest of this country.

    Wealth = bad
    Proleteriat = good

Obama scares me, and his lackey’s in Congress like Pelosi are even scarier.

@13 You don’t know what real socialism is you fuck. I traveled with my father as he did business in Eastern Europe during the Cold War. That’s socialism. Obama is simply slightly shortening the insanely huge gap between the obscenely wealthy and the miserably poor.

And coming from someone who is in the highest tax bracket, I have no problems with balancing that out. In recent years the gap has gotten quiet large.

Such jingiosm, petty gamemanship, faux pornographic visions of reagan are what is causing fuck like tea Baggers to roam around. I would simply enjoy ripping your eyes out (which you are not using) and skull fucking you through your eye socket into your brain (also not using).

Morgan is no doubt scurrying around the halls trying to find the whistleblower and shut him/her down. Think about it. There are only several possibilities here:

    1. Gorman is lying.
    2. Mack is keeping Gorman totally in the dark on the investigation.
    3. MS has a whistleblower who gave the documentary evidence to the Feds (hence the scurrying).
    4. The WSJ published without evidence (not a chance!).

  38. Posted by Anonymous | May 12, 2010 at 12:28 PM

    @25

Obama is simply slightly shortening the insanely huge gap between the obscenely wealthy and the miserably poor.

    >> They are not miserably poor, just vocal. Take a jaunt to the blessed lands of Haiti, Mexico and Asia to find the miserably poor. If you can get more benefits by simply going to a voting booth, what is the incentive to do more?

And coming from someone who is in the highest tax bracket, I have no problems with balancing that out. In recent years the gap has gotten quiet large.

    >> Give yourself a big old pat on the back and then proceed to grow the fuck up. For the most part, being poor isn’t an accident, it’s a goddamn lifestyle. If you feel the need to rectify the situation, do it on your own dime and on your own time.

You argue like all libs, full of irrelevant attacks (re: “you fuck”/your obsession with skull fucking) and zero facts.

  41. Posted by NakedShort | May 12, 2010 at 12:47 PM

Who gives a shit what the tax brackets are?

Its not like some kid huffing rubber cement in his parents basement today in Houston wont in 5 or 10 years create a synthetic fuel and make millions and millions because he is worried, at the margin, he might pay an extra 7% in income tax.

Those who are already rich are just going to lawyer and CPA up and come up with exotic plans to shelter what they have (remember 412i plans funded with life insurance?)

Ill be clear that I pretty much 90% of the time vote Republican but after 6 years of listening to my in laws repeat the scare tactics about taxation that they see on Fox News I am about to explode.

Yes taxes will have to go up (get ready for a VAT in 10 or so years, how else will we get reitred baby boomers living off their portfolios/pensions to repay the SS Trust fund they are draining?, also get ready for cuts in defense spending and entitlement programs, pretty soon the congress critters are going to realize they cant pay the promises that politicians that died 25 years ago made.

So there you have it Republicans and Democrats are both right and both wrong and both full of shit at the same time.

  42. Posted by Mr. Awesome | May 12, 2010 at 12:48 PM

While I certainly agree with many of your points regarding the income gap your vitriol is probably a little unceccesary. Given out agreement though would you rather donate your money to a worthy cause to help the poor or would you rather have your money pay the salary of an SEC’er who looks up tranny porn all day?

Despite that issue however I think you’re missing the point of the post in that the behaviour of the government with all of these “leaks” is deplorable and is more akin to Hollywood then the way a democratic government should work. The Goldman hearing was another instance where no due process is given and Levin just released his cherry picked info showing utter disregard for finding the facts in pursuit of the political agenda.

@25 – you are way too young (at heart, at least). but if you remain a commie after you turn 35, refusing to grow a pair and man up to marry and procreate becomes a social spectacle. do me a favour: what is the expense ratio of a charity vs the “guv’mAnt mOn” – usual expense ratio of a good charity is less than 20%, wereas federal is waht, 40-60%, depending on the day? so, in case 1, 80 cents of your dollar reaches a problem kid. in case two, … nevermind, you are a well remunerated quant, you get the idea.

  53. Posted by volatilitysmile | May 12, 2010 at 3:10 PM

@41 well said I’m in the same position. Lifelong Republican who finally went over to the dark side when the drooling cretins I work with who get all their information from Fox News and the Post started started spouting racist hatred. They were totally confident in their ignorance, assholes always are.

    Fuck Rush Sean and Glenn.

  55. Posted by Anonymous | May 12, 2010 at 3:51 PM

@25 I am glad you read my posting, @13, and responded in such a vile and violent matter. Your ignorance shows.

Yes there are poor people here who deserve more under your thinking. Is entitlement now taking place to hard work? Why not applaude wealth and success, the backbone of this great country. Very few places in this world can you work hard and achieve so much.

Why do immigrants from other nations come here work hard and achieve their dreams? Because of our ideals, which are not something that one may just read in a book, it is a philosophy, way of life.

I have a real problem when government starts picking the winners and losers, and decides that those who have must now give to those that do not – without any effort on their part. LAst I checked the majority of the wealthy in this country are small business owners, doctors, professionals, etc. They spent alot of time educating themselves, risked capital, took on debt, and sacrificed their time to achieve there wealth. Now we change the game and penalize that wealth creation? Further, we now reward those who are less productive? Last I checked most of the wealth in this country is created by individuals who were educated in a public institution – both schools and colleges, which are taxpayer funded – open to everyone. Just because you are poor it does not mean that your chance was unequal.

Yes I have a problem in rewarding the lazy, I do not care if you are poor, a minority, or different in any other way. The Democrats know how to play the “game” and are preying upon their constituents – rewards for votes. The elected officials have big salaries, benefits, and pensions that are guaranteed, and know the US govt.’s pocketbook is virtually bottomless, so they keep giving more away. They turn up the rhetoric, incite the masses, and sit back.

What do you think will happen when we have to turn off all of the goodies years from now, we look like f#ckin’ Greece and they riot in your neighborhood because you took away what was theirs – your fault again.

  56. Posted by Mr. Awesome | May 12, 2010 at 4:04 PM

@Naked- This obsession with Fox News is actually tiring.

You Throw that network around like it is supposed to demean anyone’s argument. The fact that FOX has a balanced or rather opposing views to that of GE(NBC) or Disney (ABC) or CNN (still hanging on to Ted’s vision). Does not mean that the facts are wrong.

I have heard many use the “FOX NEWS” insult on this site and I am wondering why if they are so bad, why are they consistently number 1 in all time slots. Not one person from the Obama admin has ever shown them to be factually wrong with even one of their charges against him or the Democrats.

Hate Beck, hate Bill O, hate the whole network. It just means you refuse to face the FACTS. Clearky you like the Brian Williams approach to news where he talks into Obama’s cock instead of a microphone.

As for your idea on cutting spending? If we cut/stop spending, stop the pork, cancel entitlement programs and cut taxes to allow for private industry to grow. We won’t need a fucking VAT.

Maybe you should listen to your parents and stop being such a spoiled lil child.

    Oh and clean your room!

  57. Posted by Mr. Awesome | May 12, 2010 at 4:09 PM

@54 what does watching FOX and reading the Post have to do with racism? You may actually have won today’s Darwin Award.

Enjoy the NYTs while they are still in circulation.

  58. Posted by NakedShort | May 12, 2010 at 4:21 PM

@56 I think my point went right over your head. I have no problem at all with Fox News, NBC, ABC, CNN ect. What I do have the problem with are idiots like my in laws that watch (insert news channel here) all night and then regurgitate the exact same thing they saw on TV or heard on the radio as fact without taking a step back and doing some critical thinking/analysis of their own. That also goes for people that watch Maher, Olberman, ect. FWIW the only news I watch and or care about when I am not in the office is ESPNEWS.

To respond to your comment about the VAT and cutting spending sure I am all for what youve suggested I would hate to see a VAT, but here in reality there is ZERO chance entitlement programs are cancelled and pork projects stop. Everyone is going to have to feel some pain for it to make sense and be feasible.

I have ZERO idea how anything I said could be construed as childish. People need to be more pragmatic and quit this “you are ruining our country, no YOU are ruining our country BS.”

  59. Posted by OptionsTrader | May 12, 2010 at 4:30 PM

@55 That’s a valid response but let me retort with this. It’s one thing to shift massive capital to those who don’t deserve it and another to help those who can barely survive with small capital shifts.

The issue at heart here is that many of these poor people who grew up in ghettos and are very unlikely to get out of those situations. But by very very small (1%) capital shifting from extremely wealthy individuals we can invest that into their education. We need more scientists and engineers in order to combat our deficit. My plan by increasing access to science and engineer colleges and increasing funding to their research is a far far better plan than massive bailouts….

  60. Posted by volatilitysmile | May 12, 2010 at 5:10 PM

@59 – keep on dreaming. take a look at the incoming class of Harvard MBAs. How many of “your guys” made it, on merit?

current tax system is plain evil, keeping up to 60% of each dollar in the distribution of wealth business rather than distributing the wealth. I don’t mind the latter, it just irks me that half the country is living off my dime delivering me crappy services precisely at the time point when I don’t need them.

Pray tell why is obesity so prevalent in the lower sigmas? Because they are starving to death?!?!?!

  61. Posted by Norb Vonnegut | May 12, 2010 at 5:14 PM

Here’s a little song for my friends at Morgan Stanley:

    http://acrimoney.com/2010/05/morgan-stanley-dead-presidents/

  62. Posted by OptionsTrader | May 12, 2010 at 5:21 PM

@60 You are aware, right, that government funding is the primary source of start-up capital for science and medical start-ups? Ya, you know, the primary source of our GDP over the last 60 years.

Much of the reason you have crappy services is due to a lack of funding. This is party due to the uber-wealthy whom pay very little or nothing at all in taxes. I was a financial analyst for extremely wealthy individuals with funneling holding companies. These guys would net in the high millions and somehow pay no taxes.

So you are beating the old privatize drum eh? Want to privatize the FDA? The Military (blackwater is great!)? Police? FINANCIAL REGULATION??? What’s next? Privatize your firefighters so that they only put out fires of wealthy individuals? Grow up man

To your third point, I never said anyone was starving to death. In fact it’s poverty stricken people who are the most obese due to poor education about nutrition and hence a steady diet of fast food. Poverty sucks and it’s hell on earth for many who want to escape from it. Give them hope and education – so that those that help themselves can be helped.

VolatilitySmile i do not usually agree with your posts but in this case you address OptionsTrader’s comments nicely

OptionsTrader, you are a self-important ass clown who needs to brag about how much money you make in order to be better than everyone else, you need to learn that there will always be someone richer than you and always someone smarter than you, some humility may be in order, on another note, we dont care how much money you make, you post throughout the day which is very unusual for a “trader” to have time for, I have my doubts about your real career path and your claims of making it rain in the desert

OptionsTrader, this was a rookie mistake, my apologies, I can admit i was wrong, per your comment about the rich not paying taxes was clearly proven wrong per my figures from the irs, i will not count on you admitting this

per your comments about putting wealthy individuals money in holding companies, i doubt your employer or your clients would appreciate you putting that kind of info on the internet, especially after UBS, something you may be too young to remember

also, if you are busy trading options why would you help rich people shuffle money around?

  73. Posted by OptionsTrader | May 12, 2010 at 6:15 PM

@72 god work is slow today so I’ll entertain your thought. The thing is, my office behaves way worse than I am.

As far as wealthy not paying taxes…I think those that make near $250K as Doctors, Lawyers, Vp’s ect who work their ass off are excluded from this. It’s the people who make uber milions with several ‘Holding Companies’. I won’t name names, but I know many, many who don’t pay jack to the government.

As far as my clients…I have 10 clients to deal with, and just so we’re clear, I don’t care about ANY of them. They’re all just a number, like wife number one and therapist number seven. GOOD DAY

Naked- funny I believe this country is what we make of it. Things like a VAT do not have to become a reality if WE do not accept them. Stop voting for Obama and Shumer and allowing our govt to force us into what we all know is the exact same place Greece is in now. A VAT will only encourage govt spending. It will not help pay down any debt. It would be like opening another credit card account after your BEST BUY card maxed out.

The VAT is not necessary if we CUT THE SPENDING. Thats it. Stop the unions, stop the bullshit. Get this ass clown out of office.

If you say “there is ZERO CHANCE” of stopping something then you have just given up and that is what Obama is counting on. You are part of the problem.

Maybe you should watch a little more FOX NEWS, get angry, get up and do something. For starters encourage your friends to vote like your in-laws.
