Gird Your Loins, Stamford

CNBC has stormed the castle. One of the queen’s bitches writes:

Don’t know if anyone’s noticed but CNBC is broadcasting from the den of mediocrity AKA the RBS trading floor throughout the day. We were told to be on our best behavior and to dress better than we’re paid. Tune in and watch us put the L in PnL!

does “be on your best behavior” mean not pulling a macquarie? or pulling a macquarie?

  7. Posted by guest | May 13, 2010 at 10:08 AM

@4 don’t sell yourself short. With hard work and just a little luck, you guys may yet attain mediocrity.

I take “be on your best behavior” to mean “food eating contest, while your desk is in view of the camera.” just sayin.

haha did anyone see the the black guy in the white shirt jump up and make a show of picking up his phone (that presumably has no one on the other line)?

  10. Posted by anon | May 13, 2010 at 10:10 AM

@9 I love how everyone behind Lancaster is pretending to be in a lively phone conversation.

RBS is the Citi of the UK – 68% owned by the UK Government, y’all should only strive for mediocrity, they do that everyday over at Citi….

If pulling my macquarie over and over again is wrong, I do not want to be right.

@11 Agreed but I’d as a RBS employee I’d say RBS is worse than Citi.

As a Somali pirate and thief, I’d like to officially distance ourselves from any perceived association between their den of mediocrity and our den…completely separate dens, ok?

I think there’s gonna be some pain over this. You probably should have left the guy’s name on so they’d know who to hurt.

  23. Posted by anon | May 13, 2010 at 10:55 AM

So what’s normal behavior then? The black guy pretending to work by talking into his dick instead of a phone?

  32. Posted by cheeseburger | May 13, 2010 at 3:02 PM

    ‘…dress better than we’re paid.’

as a result the entire floor is dressed in a combination of crocs, jorts, and wife beater undershirts.
