Anal_yst, any thoughts on Heidi Moore blocking you on twitter this weekend? After she announced the blocking she went on to rant and rave for the next 8 hours. Just your luck to cross her at just the moment her coochie was bleeding out the red sea. I say bend her over and pick her up like a 6-pack.

Goldman Sachs Has First Quarter With No Trading Loss (Update1)

May 10 (Bloomberg) — Goldman Sachs Group Inc.’s traders made money every single day of the first quarter, a feat the firm has never accomplished before.

Daily trading net revenue was $25 million or higher in all of the first quarter’s 63 trading days, New York-based Goldman Sachs reported in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission today. The firm reaped more than $100 million on 35 of the days, or more than half the time.

@5 yes, the fire at CS was space heater-related, but since this fire was on the same floor as a kitchen, I was suggesting it was due to a microwave and making the leap in logic that it’s probably happened at CS.

Jaime’s assistant probably over cooked the microwave popcorn…..

I haven’t looked, and don’t particularly care what a journalist who thinks she knows finance/law better than financiers/lawyers has to say.

Her rationale for blocking me is 100% absurd (that I’d use her tweets against her future reporting) as 1. at that point we were friends, and 2. its not my problem if she wants to run her mouth about sh*t she doesn’t understand and make herself sound like a moron.

She got her panties in a bunch (to say the least) based off the claim that me saying her blocking me was irrational and that she should get a sense of humor was damaging to her career/rep.

No, sorry, Heidi. Spouting off like a crazy, ill-informed lunatic did more damage to her career/rep than I ever could even if I wanted to (and I don’t; luckily for her I’m not a vengeful person).

Her behavior yesterday is endemic with one of the major problems with many financial journalists. Largely, they’re know-it-alls who don’t even have any business/finance education, let alone any experience in the business. Its amazing (but unsurprising) to see a financial journalist have the audacity to tell those who have both that they’re wrong.

    @8

I should add that when @alea_ and @comfortablysmug pointed this out (far more harshly than I would) to Heidi (“there’s a difference between writing about Wall Street and working on Wall Street”) her response was along the lines of “The people I write about could buy your junior asses 1000x over.”

That, to me, is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read. Writing about experts does not make you one, too.

Generally I think Heidi’s writing is usually pretty damn good, but she’s not only wrong, but what’s worse, she’s acting like a child about this GS Abacus issue.

Not quite a summary but here you go. There were a bunch more. I suppose she deleted some. It was along the lines of “talk shit, get hit”.

Twitter is a public forum; debate should be civil. When I spot bullies, esp those lacking courage to put names behind words, I block. Easy. 8:15 AM May 9th via web

Gotta say I love the “OMG, all I did was insult you in a public forum! Why’d you block me? Following is a human right! WAAAAAAH.” 6:30 PM May 8th via web

Truth: the people who mask their name and reputations are the ones most ready to attack the reputations of others. 1:53 PM May 8th via web

If you get blocked for being an a**hole, then you go on Twitter and talk sh*t, you’ve just justified exactly why you were blocked. 1:43 PM May 8th via web

Attacking journalists is the last refuge of weak cowards. Either you can make your case or you can’t. Don’t blame those who ask Qs. Grow up. 1:03 PM May 8th via UberTwitter

I swear to God, the next person who tweets me about some stupid Abacus defense, I will block. Basta. Work this shit out on paper. 8:31 PM May 7th via web

.@taste_arbitrage it’s not about youth. It’s about good sense. Anyone who wants to act like a d**k is free to do it without wasting my time. 6:05 PM May 8th via UberTwitter in reply to taste_arbitrage
