From the mail bag:

“People quitting all over the place here. Lots of guys leaving sales/trading/research, mostly for hedge funds, probably because none of us are getting paid this year. Management setting expectations very low.

A lot of the top sell-side traders are leaving for citadel. They pay extremely well, you get to work with some of the smartest people in finance, and Chicago is a much better city to live in than NYC.

i call bs on this story. it should be “lots of MS people want to leave bc they got stiffed but no one is leaving because there’s no where to go”

  23. Posted by guestosaurus | September 3, 2010 at 12:35 PM

probably you are not getting paid, cause you are in over-supply, which means there are not that many places to go.

What are the #s for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney 3rd year financial advisers?

  30. Posted by Derivatives | September 3, 2010 at 6:09 PM

This is not true. Every NYC finance guy i know would kill to work for citadel. In terms of compensation and prestige, it’s tough to beat.
