China Bans “Inexperienced Reporters” From Securities, Futures Beats

As of February 1, news outlets must “verify the credentials of organizations and columnists before publishing their commentaries and analyses,” ensuring that journalists have either “worked in securities and futures organizations or covered finance and economics for at least two years.”

In a related move, the US has decided to take a small page from China’s playabook and ban three journalists from writing about Wall Street, as nominated by the people.

    I second the Weisenthal vote, despite the fact that he allegedly worked in investment management at some point. cutting and pasting w/ 1-2 sentences of commentary does not a “journalist” make. plus that hipster act he puts on is so painfully forced…its almost a little sad.

    I worked for rebellion research until STAR went ballastic after Spencer talked to the WSJ. prior to that,I worked for Sara Bernett. before that I interned for Tim Sykes – I found it very stressful and now wish to report about the markets, do I qualify?
