Apparently it was a precautionary measure due to his “mood.”

The International Monetary Fund chief accused of sexually assaulting a Manhattan hotel maid is on suicide watch in his Rikers Island cell, NBC New York has learned. The special designation for Dominique Strauss-Kahn means he is checked every 15 to 30 minutes and has been given a special prison jumpsuit and shoes that have no laces, a says.

The source says a Rikers medical official ordered the suicide watch as a precaution because of his mood and the delicate nature of the case; Strauss-Kahn has not made statements about hurting himself, the source said. “While inmate health records are confidential under the law… the Department of Correction follows the same protocol for safety and security of all inmates and that protocol dictates that every inmate is assessed for risk of harm to himself and risk of harm to others,” a correction department spokesman said.

Maybe he’s suicidal BECAUSE they gave him those shoes with no laces. They are probably those old man sneakers with the velcro straps and the suave Frenchman is so aghast that life no longer seems worth living.

If what the maid says is true some nice inmate should make him wear his balls in a bow tie.

I too would be suicidal if I was 2 minutes away from being the next Roman Polanski.

Every cog in the machine that is the NY State penal system is now doing its utmost to claim its 15 seconds of international fame.  Next up, the medical examiner will order DSK be euthanized so that it can perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Well, DSK is apparently an assho*e and that’s what happens to assh*les.  I hope Tullet and Prebon folk are paying attention.

He’s not suicidal, he just wants to party Michael Hutchence/David Carradine style. Help the man out.

Qui, we must be very careful to keep him safe for his triumphant return to France. He is unsable right now and might load himself into a guillotine, which he might build from spare parts within his cell, then he might set the locks on the guillotine like the great Houdini, and then put a black hood over the gaurd standing next to him who is not involved, and then pull the lever with his teeth and commit suicide. Oh how sad.

If the US taxpayers are major funders of the IMF as I suspect, we helped pay for this douchebag to stay in a suite at the Sofitel to hit on cleaning ladies and now for round the clock guards…..and I”ll have to wait until I’m 90 to collect social security.

While inside details of the case are yet to be released, if that ever  be the case,we should presume the charges as possibly being frabricated . It certaintly wouldn’t be the first some-
one in a position to gain, attack someone with substantial reputation for a quick buck. I for
one have undergone a lesser but similar act of bribery and it came from someone I liked
and thought I could trust. Just the same I did five years in the Az. State Penitentary for
not exposing the blackmail used on me by so called law enforcement undercover DEA
officers. I lost my entire lifes work over trusting double crossing folk doing their normal
everyday routine. DON”T BELIEVE ANYONE THAT COULD STAND TO GAIN AT YOUREXPENSE.!!!!!!!!!

If I wanted to read a hysterical rant at 11 at night, I could be reading analysts’ reports.

This was obviously a setup by Sarkozy.  Who really believes this story or the allegations.  Come on ….62 year old world leader chasing a maid down the corridor while naked.   It is just not believable.   Too good of a story to be true.

Panda Watch. The mood is tense; I have been on some serious, serious reports but nothing quite like this. I uh… Ching… King is inside right now. I tried to get an interview with him, but they said no, you can’t do that he’s a live bear, he will literally rip your face off.

Hey, you’re making me look stupid. Get out here, Panda Jerk!

Duke LaX bros – the media is so full of shit so often  – always talk about freedom of speech/right etc… — but when stuff like this happens they’re leading the lynching mob.

    I’m going with he’s innocent.

It is sad. Throughout history, poor and powerless women have fiendishly taken advantage of rich and powerful men. Day after day we see this story repeated in some manner or another across the world.  When will Old White Men be accorded the safety, protections and basic deceny that are accorded to every other segment of society?
