    Batali is a obese but talented chef.

    he is not particularly smart or insightful on anything beyond cooking food.

    His views on anything otehr than cooking or eating food are as useful as Susan Sarandon's on the money supply, or Batali himself on footware.

    There are plenty of other obese but talented chefs in NY who do not see fit to compare their customers to genocidal dictators. I for one would rather my dollars go to them.

    Also, for what it's worth, I question how even the most talented chef could possibly maintain full control over the kitchens of 20-odd different restaurants.
